Psalms 82

1 “A psalm of Assaph.” God standeth in the congregation of God, in the midst of judges doth he judge.

Psaume d'Asaph. Dieu s'est tenu debout dans l'assemblée des dieux, et Dieu jugera au milieu.

2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and treat with favor the face of the wicked? (Selah)

Jusques à quand jugerez-vous selon l'iniquité, et aurez-vous égard à la face des pécheurs?

3 Judge uprightly the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and indigent.

Jugez l'orphelin et le pauvre; justifiez l'humble et l'indigent.

4 Release the poor and needy: deliver them out of the power of the wicked.

Délivrez l'indigent, et retirez le pauvre de la main du pécheur.

5 They know not, nor will they understand; in darkness do they walk on: all the foundations of the earth are moved.

Ils ne savent pas, ils n'ont point compris; ils cheminent dans les ténèbres; tous les fondements de la terre seront ébranlés.

6 I have indeed said, Ye are gods; and children of the most High are all of you.

Et moi j'ai dit: vous êtes des dieux, et tous fils du Très-Haut.

7 But verily like men shall ye die, and like one of the princes shall ye fall.

Cependant vous mourrez comme des hommes et vous tomberez comme l'un des princes.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for thou wilt possess all the nations.

Lève-toi, ô Dieu, juge la terre; car toutes les nations seront ton héritage.
