Psalms 81
1 “To the chief musician upon Gittith; by Assaph.” Sing aloud unto God our strength: shout joyfully unto the God of Jacob.
聖歌隊の指揮者によってギテトのしらべにあわせてうたわせたアサフの歌 われらの力なる神にむかって高らかに歌え。ヤコブの神にむかって喜びの声をあげよ。
2 Lift up psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
歌をうたい、鼓を打て。良い音の琴と立琴とをかきならせ。
3 Blow on the new moon the cornet, at the time appointed, on the day of our feast.
新月と満月とわれらの祭の日とにラッパを吹きならせ。
4 For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance by the God of Jacob.
これはイスラエルの定め、ヤコブの神のおきてである。
5 As a testimony in Joseph did he ordain it, when he went out over the land of Egypt. The language of one I had not known did I hear.
神が出てエジプトの国を攻められたとき、ヨセフのなかにこれを立てて、あかしとされた。わたしはかしこでまだ知らなかった言葉を聞いた、
6 I removed from the burden his shoulder: his hands left behind the burden-basket.
「わたしはあなたの肩から重荷をのぞき、あなたの手をかごから免れさせた。
7 In distress thou didst call, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret of the thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. (Selah)
あなたが悩んだとき、呼ばわったのでわたしはあなたを救った。わたしは雷の隠れた所で、あなたに答え、メリバの水のほとりで、あなたを試みた。 (セラ)
8 Hear, O my people, and I will give warning unto thee; O Israel, if thou wouldst but hearken unto me!
わが民よ、聞け、わたしはあなたに勧告する。イスラエルよ、あなたがわたしに聞き従うことを望む。
9 There shall not be among thee a foreign God; nor shalt thou bow thyself down to any strange God.
あなたのうちに他の神があってはならない。あなたは外国の神を拝んではならない。
10 I am the Lord thy God, who have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: open wide thy mouth, and I will fill it.
わたしはエジプトの国から、あなたをつれ出したあなたの神、主である。あなたの口を広くあけよ、わたしはそれを満たそう。
11 But my people did not hearken to my voice; and Israel was not willing [to follow] me.
しかしわが民はわたしの声に聞き従わず、イスラエルはわたしを好まなかった。
12 So I let them go in the stubbornness of their own hearts: and they walked in their own counsels.
それゆえ、わたしは彼らをそのかたくなな心にまかせ、その思いのままに行くにまかせた。
13 Oh that my people would hearken unto me, that Israel would walk in my ways!
わたしはわが民のわたしに聞き従い、イスラエルのわが道に歩むことを欲する。
14 In a little while would I subdue their enemies, and against their adversaries would I turn my hand.
わたしはすみやかに彼らの敵を従え、わが手を彼らのあだに向けよう。
15 The haters of the Lord should offer flattery unto him; but their time should endure for ever.
主を憎む者も彼らに恐れ従い、彼らの時はとこしえに続くであろう。
16 And he would feed him with the best of wheat: and out of the rock would I satisfy thee with honey.
わたしは麦の最も良いものをもってあなたを養い、岩から出た蜜をもってあなたを飽かせるであろう」。
