< Psalms 80 >

1 “To the chief musician upon Shoshannim; an 'Eduth by Assaph; a psalm.” O Shepherd of Israel, give ear, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
Thaburi ya Asafu Wee Mũrĩithi wa Isiraeli, tũigue, o Wee ũtongoragia Jusufu ta ũrĩa mũrĩithi atongoragia rũũru; Wee ũikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene gatagatĩ ka makerubi-rĩ, cangarara
2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Menasseh awaken thy might, and come to our help.
ũrĩ mbere ya Efiraimu, na Benjamini, na Manase. Arahũra ũhoti waku, ũũke ũtũhonokie.
3 O God, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
Wee Ngai-rĩ, tũma tũgaacĩre rĩngĩ; tũma ũthiũ waku ũtwarĩre, nĩguo tũhonoke.
4 O Lord of hosts, how long shall thy anger smoke against the prayer of thy people?
Wee Jehova Ngai mwene hinya wothe, marakara maku megũtooga nginya rĩ ũgĩũkĩrĩra mahooya ma andũ aku?
5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears, and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
Nĩũmahũũnĩtie na irio cia maithori; ũtũmĩte manyue maithori maiyũrĩte mbakũri riita.
6 Thou renderest us a contest unto our neighbors: and our enemies hold derision among themselves.
Ũtũtuĩte kĩndũ gĩa kũrũagĩrwo nĩ arĩa tũriganĩtie nao, nacio thũ ciitũ igatũnyũrũria.
7 O God of hosts, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
Wee Ngai-Mwene-Hinya-Wothe-rĩ, tũma tũgaacĩre rĩngĩ; tũma ũthiũ waku ũtwarĩre, nĩguo tũhonoke.
8 A vine didst thou remove out of Egypt: thou drovest out nations, and plantedst it.
Wareehire mũthabibũ kuuma bũrũri wa Misiri; warutũrũrire ndũrĩrĩ ũkĩũhaanda arĩ guo.
9 Thou didst clear out a place before it, and it struck its root deeply, and it filled the land.
Nĩwaũthereirie mũgũnda, naguo ũkĩgwata, na ũkĩiyũra bũrũri wothe.
10 Mountains were covered with its shadow, and with its boughs the cedars of God.
Irĩma nĩciahumbĩrirwo nĩ kĩĩruru kĩaguo, nayo mĩtarakwa ĩrĩa mĩnene ĩkĩhumbĩrwo nĩ honge ciaguo.
11 It sent out its tendrils as far as the sea, and unto the river its suckers.
Watambũrũkirie honge ciaguo o nginya Iria-inĩ rĩrĩa Inene, na thuuna ciaguo ũgĩcikinyia o nginya Rũũĩ-inĩ rwa Farati.
12 Wherefore hast thou now broken down its fences, so that all who pass by the way pluck the fruit from it?
Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmĩte ũmomore njirigo ciaguo, ũgagĩtũma ehĩtũkĩri othe matuage thabibũ ciaguo?
13 The boar out of the forest doth gnaw at it, and what moveth on the field feedeth on it.
Ũrangarangagwo nĩ ngũrwe cia gĩthaka, na ũkarĩĩo nĩ nyamũ cia werũ-inĩ.
14 O God of hosts, return; I pray thee, look down from heaven, and behold, and think of this vine;
Wee Ngai Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, tũcookerere! Rora ũrĩ igũrũ wone! Rũmbũiya mũthabibũ ũyũ,
15 And of the sprout which thy right hand hath planted, and of the branch that thou hast made strong for thyself.
mũri ũrĩa guoko gwaku kwa ũrĩo kwahaandire, mũriũ ũrĩa wee mwene wĩrereire.
16 It is burnt with fire, it is hewn down; because of the rebuke of thy countenance do they perish.
Mũthabibũ waku nĩũtemetwo, ũgacinwo na mwaki; thũ ciaku irothira nĩ ũndũ wa irũithia rĩaku.
17 Let thy hand be over the man of thy right hand, over the son of man whom thou hast made strong for thyself.
Guoko gwaku kũroikara na mũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩ guoko-inĩ gwaku kwa ũrĩo, ũcio mũrũ wa mũndũ wĩrereire wee mwene.
18 Then will we not swerve from thee: revive us again, and we will call on thy name.
No ithuĩ-rĩ, tũtigatigana nawe o rĩ; tũrurumũkie na nĩtũrĩkayagĩra rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
19 O Lord God of hosts, cause us to return: let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
Wee Jehova Ngai Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, tũma tũgaacĩre rĩngĩ; tũma ũthiũ waku ũtwarĩre, nĩguo tũhonoke.
