< Psalms 8 >
1 “To the chief musician upon Gittith, a psalm of David.” O Eternal One our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the earth! thou who hast set thy majesty above the heavens.
Ya Mukulu wa Bayimbi. Zabbuli ya Dawudi. Ayi Mukama, Mukama waffe, erinnya lyo nga ddungi era kkulu nnyo mu nsi yonna! Ekitiibwa kyo kitenderezebwa okutuuka waggulu mu ggulu.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou founded [thy] might, because of thy opponents, that thou mightest bring to silence the enemy and him that seeketh vengeance.
Abaana abato n’abawere wabawa amaanyi okukutendereza; ne basirisa omulabe wo n’oyo ayagala okwesasuza.
3 When I behold thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast established: —
Bwe ntunuulira eggulu lyo, omulimu gw’engalo zo, omwezi n’emmunyeenye bye watonda;
4 What is the mortal, that thou rememberest him? and the son of man, that thou thinkest of him:
omuntu kye ki ggwe okumujjukira, omuntu obuntu ggwe okumussaako omwoyo?
5 Yet thou hast made him but a little less than angels, and hast crowned him with honor and glory.
Kubanga wamukola n’abulako katono okuba nga Katonda; n’omussaako engule ey’obukulu n’ekitiibwa.
6 Thou hast given him dominion over the works of thy hands; every thing hast thou placed beneath his feet:
Wamukwasa okufuga ebintu byonna bye wakola n’emikono gyo: byonna wabissa wansi w’ebigere bye,
7 Flocks and herds altogether, and also the beasts of the field;
ebisibo n’amagana ag’ebisolo byonna eby’omu nsiko,
8 The birds of heaven, and the fishes of the sea, whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
n’ennyonyi ez’omu bbanga, n’ebyennyanja eby’omu nnyanja; era na buli kiramu kyonna ekiyita mu nnyanja.
9 O Eternal One our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the earth!
Ayi Mukama, Mukama waffe, erinnya lyo nga ddungi era kkulu nnyo mu nsi yonna!
