< Psalms 8 >
1 “To the chief musician upon Gittith, a psalm of David.” O Eternal One our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the earth! thou who hast set thy majesty above the heavens.
Kuom Jatend Wer. Kaluwore Gi Gitith. Zaburi Mar Daudi. Yaye Jehova Nyasaye, ma Ruodhwa, mano kaka nyingi nigi duongʼ e piny duto! Iseketo duongʼni maler milamo, moyombo polo.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou founded [thy] might, because of thy opponents, that thou mightest bring to silence the enemy and him that seeketh vengeance.
Ne isechano mondo nyithindo kod nyithindo mayom omiyi pak, nikech wasiki, mondo jawasigu kod jachul kuor olingʼ kawuoro timni.
3 When I behold thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast established: —
Kaparo polo mari ma gin tich lweti, kaparo dwe gi sulwe miseketo kargi,
4 What is the mortal, that thou rememberest him? and the son of man, that thou thinkest of him:
to dhano adhana to en angʼo momiyo ipare, wuod dhano to en angʼo momiyo iketo pachi kuome?
5 Yet thou hast made him but a little less than angels, and hast crowned him with honor and glory.
Ne ichweye mapiny ne malaike kendo isesidhone osimbo mar duongʼ kod luor.
6 Thou hast given him dominion over the works of thy hands; every thing hast thou placed beneath his feet:
Isekete jatelo ewi tich lweti duto; iseketo gik moko duto e bwo tiende:
7 Flocks and herds altogether, and also the beasts of the field;
Jamni gi kweth duto kod le mager mag bungu,
8 The birds of heaven, and the fishes of the sea, whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
Winy duto mafuyo e kor polo, kod rech manie nam, gi le duto mamol kaluwo yore manie nembe iketo e bwo lochne.
9 O Eternal One our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the earth!
