Psalms 78
1 “A Maskil of Assaph.” Give ear, O my people, to my instruction: incline thy ear to the words of my mouth.
| قصیده آساف ای قوم من شریعت مرا بشنوید! گوشهای خود را به سخنان دهانم فراگیرید! | ۱ |
2 I will open with a parable my mouth: I will utter riddles out of ancient times;
| دهان خود را به مثل باز خواهم کرد به چیزهایی که از بنای عالم مخفی بود تنطق خواهم نمود. | ۲ |
3 Which we have heard and know, and which our fathers have related unto us.
| که آنها را شنیده و دانسته‌ایم و پدران مابرای ما بیان کرده‌اند. | ۳ |
4 We will not conceal them from their children, relating to the latest generation the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful deeds which he hath done.
| از فرزندان ایشان آنها راپنهان نخواهیم کرد. تسبیحات خداوند را برای نسل آینده بیان می‌کنیم و قوت او و اعمال عجیبی را که او کرده است. | ۴ |
5 Yea, he established a testimony in Jacob, and instituted a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
| زیرا که شهادتی دریعقوب برپا داشت و شریعتی در اسرائیل قرار دادو پدران ما را امر فرمود که آنها را به فرزندان خودتعلیم دهند؛ | ۵ |
6 In order that the latest generation might know them, even the children that are to be born; that they may arise and relate them to their children;
| تا نسل آینده آنها را بدانند وفرزندانی که می‌بایست مولود شوند تا ایشان برخیزند و آنها را به فرزندان خود بیان نمایند؛ | ۶ |
7 That they may place in God their hope, and not forget the doings of God, but observe his commandments;
| و ایشان به خدا توکل نمایند و اعمال خدا رافراموش نکنند بلکه احکام او را نگاه دارند. | ۷ |
8 And that they may not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that had not directed their heart firmly, and whose spirit was not faithful to God.
| ومثل پدران خود نسلی گردن کش و فتنه انگیزنشوند، نسلی که دل خود را راست نساختند وروح ایشان بسوی خدا امین نبود. | ۸ |
9 The children of Ephraim, like well-armed archers, that turn round on the day of battle,
| بنی افرایم که مسلح و کمان کش بودند، درروز جنگ رو برتافتند. | ۹ |
10 Kept not the covenant of God, and in his law they refused to walk;
| عهد خدا را نگاه نداشتند و از سلوک به شریعت او ابا نمودند، | ۱۰ |
11 And they forgot his deeds, as also his wonders, which he had permitted them to see.
| واعمال و عجایب او را فراموش کردند که آنها رابدیشان ظاهر کرده بود، | ۱۱ |
12 In the presence of their fathers did he do wonders, in the land of Egypt, in the fields of Zo'an.
| و در نظر پدران ایشان اعمال عجیب کرده بود، در زمین مصر و در دیارصوعن. | ۱۲ |
13 He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters stand upright as a wall.
| دریا را منشق ساخته، ایشان را عبورداد و آبها را مثل توده برپا نمود. | ۱۳ |
14 And he led them with the cloud by day, and all the night with a light of fire.
| و ایشان را درروز به ابر راهنمایی کرد و تمامی شب به نورآتش. | ۱۴ |
15 He split rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the mighty deep.
| در صحرا صخره‌ها را بشکافت و ایشان را گویا از لجه های عظیم نوشانید. | ۱۵ |
16 And he brought forth running streams out of the rock, and caused water to run down like rivers.
| پس سیلها رااز صخره بیرون آورد و آب را مثل نهرها جاری ساخت. | ۱۶ |
17 But they repeated to sin yet more against him, rebelling against the Most High in the desert.
| و بار دیگر بر او گناه ورزیدند و برحضرت اعلی در صحرا فتنه انگیختند، | ۱۷ |
18 And they tempted God in their heart, by asking food for their desire.
| و دردلهای خود خدا را امتحان کردند، چونکه برای شهوات خود غذا خواستند. | ۱۸ |
19 Yea, they spoke against God: they said, Will God be able to set in order a table in the wilderness?
| و بر‌ضد خداتکلم کرده، گفتند: «آیا خدا می‌تواند در صحراسفره‌ای حاضر کند؟ | ۱۹ |
20 Behold, he smote the rock, so that waters gushed out, and streams overflowed: shall he also be able to give bread? or can he provide flesh for his people?
| اینک صخره را زد و آبهاروان شد و وادیها جاری گشت. آیا می‌تواند نان رانیز بدهد. و گوشت را برای قوم خود حاضرسازد؟» | ۲۰ |
21 Therefore, when the Lord heard this, he became wroth: and a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also ascended against Israel,
| پس خدا این را شنیده، غضبناک شد و آتش در یعقوب افروخته گشت و خشم بر اسرائیل مشتعل گردید. | ۲۱ |
22 Because they had not believed in God, and had not trusted in his salvation.
| زیرا به خدا ایمان نیاوردند و به نجات او اعتماد ننمودند. | ۲۲ |
23 Then he ordained the skies from above, and the doors of heaven he opened;
| پس ابرها را از بالاامر فرمود و درهای آسمان را گشود | ۲۳ |
24 And he let rain down upon them manna to eat, and the corn of heaven gave he unto them.
| و من را برایشان بارانید تا بخورند و غله آسمان را بدیشان بخشید. | ۲۴ |
25 Angels' bread did man eat: he sent them provision to satisfaction.
| مردمان، نان زورآوران را خوردند وآذوقه‌ای برای ایشان فرستاد تا سیر شوند. | ۲۵ |
26 He caused an east wind to pass along the heavens; and he led forth by his strength the south wind.
| بادشرقی را در آسمان وزانید و به قوت خود، بادجنوبی را آورد، | ۲۶ |
27 And he let rain upon them flesh [as plentiful] as the dust, and winged birds like the sand of the sea;
| و گوشت را برای ایشان مثل غبار بارانید و مرغان بالدار را مثل ریگ دریا. | ۲۷ |
28 And he let them fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.
| وآن را در میان اردوی ایشان فرود آورد، گرداگردمسکن های ایشان. | ۲۸ |
29 And they ate, and were greatly satisfied, and what they longed for he brought unto them.
| پس خوردند و نیکو سیرشدند و موافق شهوات ایشان بدیشان داد. | ۲۹ |
30 They were not estranged from their longing, yet was their food in their mouth:
| ایشان از شهوت خود دست نکشیدند. و غذاهنوز در دهان ایشان بود | ۳۰ |
31 When the wrath of God ascended against them, and he slew some of the fattest of them, and the young men of Israel did he strike down.
| که غضب خدا برایشان افروخته شده؛ تنومندان ایشان را بکشت وجوانان اسرائیل را هلاک ساخت. | ۳۱ |
32 With all this they sinned again, and believed not in his wonders.
| با وجود این همه، باز گناه ورزیدند و به اعمال عجیب او ایمان نیاوردند. | ۳۲ |
33 Therefore he caused their days to come to an end in nought, and their years in dread.
| بنابراین، روزهای ایشان را در بطالت تمام کرد و سالهای ایشان را درترس. | ۳۳ |
34 When he slew them, then did they seek him, and they returned and inquired earnestly after God.
| هنگامی که ایشان را کشت اورا طلبیدند و بازگشت کرده، درباره خدا تفحص نمودند، | ۳۴ |
35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the most high God their redeemer.
| و به یاد آوردند که خدا صخره ایشان، و خدای تعالی ولی ایشان است. | ۳۵ |
36 Nevertheless they prayed insincerely to him with their mouth, and with their tongue they lied unto him.
| اما به دهان خود او را تملق نمودند و به زبان خویش به اودروغ گفتند. | ۳۶ |
37 For their heart was not firm with him, and they were not faithful in his covenant.
| زیرا که دل ایشان با او راست نبودو به عهد وی موتمن نبودند. | ۳۷ |
38 But he, being merciful, forgave the iniquity, and destroyed [them] not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not awaken all his fury.
| اما او به حسب رحمانیتش گناه ایشان راعفو نموده، ایشان را هلاک نساخت بلکه بارهاغضب خود را برگردانیده، تمامی خشم خویش را برنینگیخت. | ۳۸ |
39 And he remembered that they are but flesh, a spirit that passeth away, and returneth not again.
| و به یاد آورد که ایشان بشرند، بادی که می‌رود و بر نمی گردد. | ۳۹ |
40 How oft did they rebel against him in the wilderness, grieve him in the desert!
| چند مرتبه درصحرا بدو فتنه انگیختند و او را در بادیه رنجانیدند. | ۴۰ |
41 Yea, they once more tempted God, and set limits to the Holy One of Israel.
| و برگشته، خدا را امتحان کردند وقدوس اسرائیل را اهانت نمودند، | ۴۱ |
42 They remembered not his hand, the day when he ransomed them from the adversary;
| و قوت او رابه‌خاطر نداشتند، روزی که ایشان را از دشمن رهانیده بود. | ۴۲ |
43 When he displayed in Egypt his signs, and his wonderful tokens in the fields of Zo'an.
| که چگونه آیات خود را در مصرظاهر ساخت و معجزات خود را در دیار صوعن. | ۴۳ |
44 And he changed their rivers into blood; and their running streams, that they could not drink [of them].
| و نهرهای ایشان را به خون مبدل نمود ورودهای ایشان را تا نتوانستند نوشید. | ۴۴ |
45 He sent out among them various wild beasts, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
| انواع پشه‌ها در میان ایشان فرستاد که ایشان را گزیدند وغوکهایی که ایشان را تباه نمودند؛ | ۴۵ |
46 And he gave unto the cricket their products, and their labor unto the locust.
| و محصول ایشان را به کرم صد پا سپرد و عمل ایشان را به ملخ داد. | ۴۶ |
47 He slew with hail their vines, and their sycamore-trees with ice-bolts.
| تاکستان ایشان را به تگرگ خراب کردو درختان جمیز ایشان را به تگرگهای درشت. | ۴۷ |
48 And he surrendered to the hail their cattle, and their herds to the lightning's flashes.
| بهایم ایشان را به تگرگ سپرد و مواشی ایشان را به شعله های برق. | ۴۸ |
49 He let loose against them the fierceness of his anger, wrath and indignation, and distress, a host of angels of misfortune.
| و آتش خشم خود را برایشان فرستاد، غضب و غیظ و ضیق را، به فرستادن فرشتگان شریر. | ۴۹ |
50 He leveled a path for his anger; he withheld not from death their soul, and their life he surrendered to the pestilence;
| و راهی برای غضب خود مهیا ساخته، جان ایشان را از موت نگاه نداشت، بلکه جان ایشان را به وبا تسلیم نمود. | ۵۰ |
51 And he smote all the first-born in Egypt; the first of their strength in the tents of Ham;
| و همه نخست زادگان مصر را کشت، اوایل قوت ایشان را در خیمه های حام. | ۵۱ |
52 But he caused his own people to depart like flocks, and guided them like a drove in the wilderness.
| و قوم خود را مثل گوسفندان کوچانید وایشان را در صحرا مثل گله راهنمایی نمود. | ۵۲ |
53 And he led them in safety, so that they felt no dread; but the sea covered over their enemies.
| وایشان را در امنیت رهبری کرد تا نترسند و دریادشمنان ایشان را پوشانید. | ۵۳ |
54 And he brought them to his holy territory, even to this mount, which his right hand had acquired.
| و ایشان را به حدودمقدس خود آورد، بدین کوهی که به‌دست راست خود تحصیل کرده بود. | ۵۴ |
55 And he drove out from before them nations, and divided them by the measuring-line as an inheritance, and he caused to dwell in their tents the tribes of Israel.
| و امت‌ها را از حضورایشان راند و میراث را برای ایشان به ریسمان تقسیم کرد و اسباط اسرائیل را در خیمه های ایشان ساکن گردانید. | ۵۵ |
56 Yet they tempted and rebelled against the most high God, and his testimonies they kept not;
| لیکن خدای تعالی را امتحان کرده، بدو فتنه انگیختند و شهادات او را نگاه نداشتند. | ۵۶ |
57 But swerved aside, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers; they turned about like a deceitful bow.
| وبرگشته، مثل پدران خود خیانت ورزیدند و مثل کمان خطا کننده منحرف شدند. | ۵۷ |
58 And they provoked him to anger with their high-places, and with their graven images they moved him to jealousy.
| و به مقامهای بلند خود خشم او را به هیجان آوردند و به بتهای خویش غیرت او را جنبش دادند. | ۵۸ |
59 God heard this, and he became wroth, and felt greatly disgusted with Israel;
| چون خدااین را بشنید غضبناک گردید و اسرائیل را به شدت مکروه داشت. | ۵۹ |
60 And he cast off the dwelling at Shiloh, the tabernacle where he had dwelt among men;
| پس مسکن شیلو را ترک نمود، آن خیمه‌ای را که در میان آدمیان برپاساخته بود، | ۶۰ |
61 And he gave up his strength unto captivity, and his glory into the adversary's hand.
| و (تابوت ) قوت خود را به اسیری داد و جمال خویش را به‌دست دشمن سپرد، | ۶۱ |
62 And he surrendered his people unto the sword; and with his inheritance was he wroth.
| وقوم خود را به شمشیر تسلیم نمود و با میراث خود غضبناک گردید. | ۶۲ |
63 His young men the fire devoured; and his virgins were not demanded in marriage.
| جوانان ایشان را آتش سوزانید و برای دوشیزگان ایشان سرود نکاح نشد. | ۶۳ |
64 His priests fell by the sword; and his widows did not weep.
| کاهنان ایشان به دم شمشیر افتادند وبیوه های ایشان نوحه گری ننمودند. | ۶۴ |
65 Then awoke the Lord as one that sleepeth, like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
| آنگاه خداوند مثل کسی‌که خوابیده بودبیدار شد، مثل جباری که از شراب می‌خروشد، | ۶۵ |
66 And he smote his enemies backward: a perpetual disgrace on them.
| و دشمنان خود را به عقب زد و ایشان را عارابدی گردانید. | ۶۶ |
67 Yet was he disgusted with the tent of Joseph, and of the tribe of Ephraim he made not choice;
| و خیمه یوسف را رد نموده، سبط افرایم را برنگزید. | ۶۷ |
68 But he chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.
| لیکن سبط یهودا رابرگزید و این کوه صهیون را که دوست می‌داشت. | ۶۸ |
69 And he built like high [mountains] his sanctuary, like the earth which he hath founded for ever.
| و قدس خود را مثل کوههای بلند بنا کرد، مثل جهان که آن را تا ابدالاباد بنیاد نهاد. | ۶۹ |
70 And he made choice of David his servant, and took him from the sheep-folds:
| و بنده خود داود را برگزید و او را از آغلهای گوسفندان گرفت. | ۷۰ |
71 From following the ewes with young he brought him, to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
| از عقب میشهای شیرده او را آورد تاقوم او یعقوب و میراث او اسرائیل را رعایت کند. | ۷۱ |
72 And he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and by the skilfulness of his hands did he lead them.
| پس ایشان را به حسب کمال دل خود رعایت نمود و ایشان را به مهارت دستهای خویش هدایت کرد. | ۷۲ |
