Psalms 71
1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be made ashamed.
Sinuun, Herra, minä turvaan, älä salli minun joutua häpeään iankaikkisesti.
2 In thy righteousness do thou deliver me and release me: incline thy ear unto me, and save me.
Pelasta minut, vapahda minut vanhurskaudessasi, kallista korvasi minun puoleeni ja auta minua.
3 Be thou unto me a rocky habitation, whereunto I may continually resort, which thou hast ordained to save me; for my rock and my strong-hold art thou.
Ole minulle kallio, jolla saan asua ja jonne aina saan mennä, sinä, joka olet säätänyt minulle pelastuksen. Sillä sinä olet minun kallioni ja linnani.
4 O my God, release me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the unrighteous and violent man.
Jumalani, vapauta minut jumalattoman kädestä, väärän ja väkivaltaisen kourista.
5 For thou art my hope, O Lord Eternal: thou art my trust from my youth.
Sillä sinä olet minun toivoni, Herra, Herra, minun turvani hamasta nuoruudestani.
6 By thee have I been supported from my birth: thou art he that took me out of my mother's womb: of thee is my praise continually.
Sinä olet minun tukeni syntymästäni saakka, sinä päästit minut äitini kohdusta; sinua minä alati ylistän.
7 As a wonderful token have I been unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
Monelle minä olen kuin kummitus, mutta sinä olet minun vahva suojani.
8 My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, and with thy glory all the day.
Minun suuni on täynnä sinun kiitostasi, täynnä sinun ylistystäsi kaiken päivää.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age: when my strength faileth, forsake me not.
Älä heitä minua pois minun vanhalla iälläni, älä hylkää minua, kun voimani loppuu.
10 For my enemies speak of me; and they that watch for my soul take counsel together,
Sillä minun viholliseni puhuvat minusta; ne, jotka väijyvät minun henkeäni, neuvottelevat keskenänsä:
11 Saying, “God hath forsaken him: pursue and seize him: for there is none to deliver.”
"Jumala on hänet hyljännyt; ajakaa häntä takaa ja ottakaa kiinni, sillä auttajaa ei ole".
12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, hasten to my help.
Jumala, älä ole minusta kaukana, Jumalani, riennä minun avukseni.
13 Let those be made ashamed, let them perish, that are adversaries to my soul: let those be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my unhappiness.
Joutukoot häpeään ja hukkukoot ne, jotka vainoavat minun sieluani; peittäköön häpeä ja pilkka ne, jotka hankkivat minulle onnettomuutta.
14 But I will continually hope, and will add yet more to all thy praise.
Mutta minä odotan alati, ja yhäti minä sinua kiitän.
15 My mouth shall relate thy righteousness, all the day thy salvation; for I know not their numbers.
Minun suuni on julistava sinun vanhurskauttasi, sinun pelastustekojasi kaiken päivää, sillä niiden määrää en minä tunne.
16 I will come to praise the mighty deeds of the Lord Eternal: I will make mention of thy righteousness, yea, thine only.
Herran, Herran väkeviä tekoja minä tuon julki, minä ylistän sinun vanhurskauttasi, sinun ainoan.
17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto I ever tell of thy wondrous deeds.
Jumala, sinä olet opettanut minua hamasta nuoruudestani, ja yhä vielä minä sinun ihmeitäsi julistan.
18 Therefore also even in old age, and when I am grayheaded, O God, forsake me not: until I have told of thy strength unto [this] generation, to every one that may come of thy might.
Älä, Jumala, minua hylkää vanhaksi ja harmaaksi tultuani, niin minä julistan sinun käsivartesi voimaa nousevalle polvelle, sinun väkevyyttäsi kaikille vielä tuleville.
19 And thy righteousness, O God, reacheth even to the height, thou, who hast done great things: O God, who is like thee!
Jumala, sinun vanhurskautesi ulottuu hamaan korkeuksiin, sinun, joka teet niin suuria. Jumala, kuka on sinun vertaisesi?
20 Thou, who hast shown me great distresses and misfortunes, wilt again revive me; and from the depths of the earth wilt thou bring me up again.
Sinä, joka olet antanut meidän kokea paljon ahdistusta ja onnettomuutta, sinä virvoitat meidät jälleen henkiin, ja maan syvyyksistä sinä tuot meidät takaisin.
21 Thou wilt increase my greatness, and wilt turn round and comfort me.
Anna minun arvoni kasvaa ja lohduta minua jälleen.
22 Also I, I will thank thee with the psaltery, [for] thy truth, O my God: I will sing unto thee with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
Niin minä myös ylistän harpulla sinua, sinun uskollisuuttasi, minun Jumalani, soitan kanteleella kiitosta sinulle, sinä Israelin Pyhä.
23 My lips shall shout joyfully when I sing unto thee; and my soul [too], which thou hast redeemed.
Minun huuleni riemuitsevat, kun minä sinulle soitan, ja myös minun sieluni, jonka sinä olet lunastanut.
24 Also my tongue shall speak all the day of thy righteousness; for ashamed, for put to the blush are those that seek my unhappiness.
Minun kieleni julistaa sinun vanhurskauttasi kaiken päivää, sillä häpeään ja pilkkaan ovat joutuneet ne, jotka hankkivat minulle onnettomuutta.
