< Psalms 70 >
1 “To the chief musician, by David, to bring to remembrance.” O God, [arise] to deliver me; O Lord, make haste to help me.
Psalmus David, in finem, In rememorationem, quod salvum fecit eum Dominus. Deus in adiutorium meum intende: Domine ad adiuvandum me festina.
2 Let those that seek after my life be made ashamed and put to the blush: let those that desire my unhappiness be turned backward and put to confusion.
Confundantur, et revereantur, qui quaerunt animam meam:
3 Let them be turned backward in consequence of their shame, that say, Aha, aha.
Avertantur retrorsum, et erubescant, qui volunt mihi mala: Avertantur statim erubescentes, qui dicunt mihi: Euge, euge.
4 Let all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, God is great.
Exultent et laetentur in te omnes qui quaerunt te, et dicant semper: Magnificetur Dominus: qui diligunt salutare tuum.
5 But I am poor and needy, O God: come hastily unto me; my help and my deliverer art thou: O Lord, do not delay.
Ego vero egenus, et pauper sum: Deus adiuva me. Adiutor meus, et liberator meus es tu: Domine ne moreris.
