Psalms 7
1 “A Shiggayon of David, which he sang unto the Lord, concerning the affairs of Cush the Benjamite.” O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust; save me from every one of my persecutors, and deliver me:
Ein Bittgebet Davids, das er dem Herrn wegen der Worte des Benjaminiten Kusch sang. HERR, mein Gott, bei dir such’ ich Zuflucht:
2 Lest he tear like a lion my soul, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.
daß der Feind mich nicht wie ein Löwe zerreiße und zerfleische, weil kein Retter da ist!
3 O Lord my God, if I have done this; if there be injustice in my hands;
O HERR mein Gott! Hab’ ich solches verübt, klebt Unrecht an meinen Händen,
4 If I have recompensed him that was at peace with me with evil; If I have taken aught from my assailants without cause:
hab’ ich dem, der in Frieden mit mir lebte, Böses getan – ach nein, ich rettete ja, die mich grundlos bedrängten –:
5 May the enemy hotly pursue my soul, and overtake it; and tread down upon the earth my life, and cause my honor to be in the dust. (Selah)
so möge der Feind mich verfolgen und einholen, möge mein Leben zu Boden niedertreten und strecke meine Ehre in den Staub! (SELA)
6 Arise, O Lord, in thy anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of my enemies: and awake for me [to] the judgment that thou hast commanded.
Steh auf, o HERR, in deinem Zorn! Erhebe dich gegen die Wut meiner Dränger! Werde wach mir zum Heil, du hast ja Gericht verordnet!
7 So shall the congregation of nations compass thee about: and for their sakes return thou to the height.
Laß die ganze Versammlung der Völker dich umringen, und über ihr kehre zurück zur Höhe!
8 The Lord will judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity [grant] me [recompense].
Der HERR ist Richter über die Völker: schaffe mir Recht, o HERR, nach meiner Gerechtigkeit und nach meines Herzens Unschuld!
9 Oh let the evil of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just, O thou, who triest the hearts and reins, O righteous God.
Mache der Gottlosen Bosheit ein Ende und hilf dem Gerechten zu festem Stand, du Prüfer der Herzen und Nieren, gerechter Gott!
10 My protection is by God, who saveth the upright in heath.
Meinen Schild hält Gott, der Helfer der in ihrem Herzen Redlichen.
11 God is a righteous judge, and a God who is indignant [with the wicked] every day.
Gott ist ein gerechter Richter und ein Gott, der täglich droht.
12 If he turn not, He will whet his sword, he bendeth his bow, and maketh it ready.
Wahrlich, wiederum schärft er sein Schwert, hält seinen Bogen gespannt und zielt
13 Also for him he prepareth the instruments of death; he fashioneth his arrows against the persecutors.
und richtet Todesgeschosse auf ihn, seine Pfeile, die er zu Brandpfeilen macht.
14 Behold, he travaileth with wrong doing; but he hath conceived mischief, and bringeth forth falsehood.
Seht: da brütet er über Trug, geht schwanger mit Unheil und gebiert Lüge;
15 He hath hollowed out a pit, and dug it, and is fallen into the ditch which he hath wrought.
eine Grube hat er gegraben und ausgescharrt, stürzt selbst aber in die Grube, die er angelegt.
16 His mischief will return upon his own head, and upon his own skull will his violence come down.
Das Unheil, das er geplant, fällt ihm aufs eigne Haupt, sein Frevel fährt auf seinen eignen Scheitel nieder.
17 I will thank the Lord according to his righteousness; and I will sing praises to the name of the Lord the Most High.
Preisen will ich den HERRN nach seiner Gerechtigkeit und lobsingen dem Namen des HERRN, des Höchsten.
