< Psalms 69 >
1 “To the chief musician upon Shoshannim, by David.” Save me, O God; for the waters are come even to threaten my life.
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Sosanimi, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ʻE ʻOtua, ke ke fakamoʻui au; he kuo hū ki loto ʻae ngaahi vai ki hoku laumālie.
2 I am sunk in the mire of the deep, where there is no standing; I am come into the depths of the waters, and the flood overfloweth me.
ʻOku ou ngalo hifo ʻi he pela loloto, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ha potu ke tuʻu ai: kuo u hoko ki he vai loloto, pea ʻoku lōmakiʻi au ʻe he vai lahi.
3 I am weary of my calling; my throat is hoarse; my eyes fail, while I hope for my God.
Kuo u vaivai ʻi heʻeku tangi: kuo mōmoa hoku kia: ʻoku fakaʻaʻau ʻo ʻosi hoku mata ʻi heʻeku tatali ki hoku ʻOtua.
4 More than the hairs of my head are those that hate me without a cause; numerous are those that would destroy me, that are my enemies wrongfully: what I have not robbed shall I now restore.
Ko kinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au taʻehanoʻuhinga ʻoku nau tokolahi hake ʻi he tuʻoni louʻulu ʻo hoku ʻulu: ko kinautolu ʻoku loto ke fakaʻauha au, ʻaia ko hoku ngaahi fili taʻetotonu, ʻoku nau mālohi; pea ne u toki ʻange ʻaia naʻe ʻikai te u ʻave.
5 O God, thou art well aware of my folly, and my guilty deeds are from thee not hidden.
ʻE ʻOtua, ʻoku ke ʻiloʻi ʻeku vale; pea ʻoku ʻikai lilo ʻiate koe ʻeku ngaahi angahala.
6 Let not those that wait on thee, O Lord Eternal of hosts, be made ashamed through me: let not those that seek thee be confounded through me, O God of Israel.
ʻE ʻEiki Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻoua naʻa tuku ke mā ʻakinautolu ʻoku tatali kiate koe koeʻuhi ko au: ʻE ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻoua naʻa puputuʻu ʻakinautolu ʻoku kumi kiate koe koeʻuhi ko au.
7 Because for thy sake have I borne reproach, hath confusion covered my face.
He ko e meʻa ʻiate koe kuo u kātaki ai ʻae lauʻikovi; kuo ʻufiʻufi ʻaki hoku mata ʻae mā.
8 A stranger am I become unto my brothers, and an alien unto my mother's children.
Kuo u hoko ko e muli ki hoku ngaahi kāinga, mo e ʻāuhe ki he fānau ʻa ʻeku faʻē.
9 Because the zeal for thy house hath devoured me; and the reproaches of those that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
He kuo u ʻosiʻosiloto ʻi he fai feinga ki ho fale; pea ko e ngaahi manuki ʻanautolu naʻe manukiʻi koe kuo tō kiate au.
10 When I wept at the fasting of my soul, it became a reproach to me.
ʻI heʻeku tangi, ʻo tautea hoku laumālie ʻaki ʻae ʻaukai, naʻe manukiʻi ai au.
11 And when I made sackcloth my garment, I became a proverb to them.
Naʻaku kofuʻaki ʻae tauangaʻa; pea ne u hoko ko honau lumaʻanga.
12 Those that sit in the gate talk against me; and [about me make] songs the drinkers of strong drink.
ʻOku lauʻikoviʻi au ʻekinautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi he matapā; pea ʻoku hiva ʻaki au ʻe he kau konā ʻi he kava.
13 But as for me, I direct my prayer unto thee, O Lord, in a time of favor; O God, in the multitude of thy kindness: answer me in the truth of thy salvation.
Ka ko au, ʻE Sihova, ʻe aʻu atu kiate koe ʻeku lotu ʻi he ʻaho tuʻumālie: ʻE ʻOtua, ke ke fanongo kiate au ʻi hono lahi fau ʻo hoʻo ʻaloʻofa, ʻi hono moʻoni ʻo hoʻo fakamoʻui.
14 Deliver me out of the mire, that I may not sink: let me be delivered from those that hate me, and out of the depths of the waters.
Fakamoʻui au mei he pela, pea ʻoua naʻa tuku au ke u ngalo hifo: tuku ke fakamoʻui au meiate kinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au, pea mei he ngaahi vai loloto.
15 Let not the flood of waters overflow me, and let not the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit close its mouth upon me.
ʻOua naʻa tuku ke lōmakiʻi au ʻe he vai lahi, pea ʻoua naʻa folo hifo au ʻe he loloto, pea ʻoua naʻa tāpuni ʻe he luo hono ngutu kiate au.
16 Answer me, O Lord; for thy kindness is good: according to the multitude of thy mercies turn thou unto me.
Fanongo kiate au, ʻE Sihova, he ʻoku lelei hoʻo manavaʻofa: ke ke tafoki mai kiate au ʻo fakatatau ki hono lahi ʻo hoʻo ʻaloʻofa ongongofua.
17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in distress: make haste and answer me.
Pea ʻoua naʻa ke fufū ho fofonga mei hoʻo tamaioʻeiki; he ʻoku ou mamahi: fanongo vave kiate au:
18 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: because of my enemies do thou ransom me.
Ke ke ʻunuʻunu mai ke ofi ki hoku laumālie, pea huhuʻi ia: fakamoʻui au koeʻuhi ko hoku ngaahi fili.
19 Thou well knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my confusion: before thee are all my assailants.
Kuo ke ʻiloʻi hoku lauʻikovi, mo ʻeku mā, mo hoku manukia: ʻoku ʻi ho ʻao ʻa hoku ngaahi fili kotoa pē.
20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am sick; and I waited for pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
Kuo fesiʻi hoku loto ʻe he lauʻikovi pea kuo u fonu ʻi he mamahi: pea naʻaku kumi ki ha niʻihi ke ʻofa mai, ka naʻe ʻikai ha tokotaha; mo e kau fakafiemālie, tā naʻe ʻikai te u ʻilo ha taha.
21 And they put into my food gall; and in my thirst they give me vinegar to drink.
Naʻa nau foaki foki kiate au ʻae ʻahu ko ʻeku meʻakai; pea ʻi heʻeku fieinu naʻa nau tuku mai ʻae vaimahi ke u inu.
22 May [then] their table become a snare before them: and to those that are at peace, a trap.
Ke hoko honau keinangaʻanga ko e hele ʻi honau ʻao: mo ia naʻe totonu kenau lelei ai, ke hoko ia ko e tauhele.
23 May their eyes become dark, that they cannot see; and make their loins continually to waver.
Ke fakapoʻuli honau mata, ke ʻoua naʻa nau mamata; pea ke tetetete maʻuaipē honau kongaloto.
24 Pour out over them thy indignation, and let the heat of thy anger overtake them.
Te ke lilingi ho houhau kiate kinautolu, pea puke ʻakinautolu ʻe ho houhau vela.
25 May their palace become desolate: in their tents let no one dwell.
Tuku ke lala honau nofoʻanga; ke ʻoua naʻa nofo ha tokotaha ʻi honau fale fehikitaki.
26 For whom thou hast smitten they persecute; and of the pain of those whom thou but wounded do they converse.
He ʻoku nau fakatangaʻi ia ʻaia kuo ke taaʻi; pea ʻoku nau talanoa fakamamahi kiate kinautolu kuo ke tautea.
27 Lay guilt upon their guilt; and let them not come into thy righteousness.
Fakalahi ʻaki ʻae nunuʻa ʻoe hia ki heʻenau hia: pea ke ʻoua naʻa nau hoko ki hoʻo māʻoniʻoni.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; and with the righteous let them not be written down.
Tuku ke tāmateʻi mei he tohi ʻoe moʻui, pea ʻoua naʻa tohi fakataha ʻakinautolu mo e kau māʻoniʻoni.
29 But I am poor and suffering: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
Ka ko au ʻoku ou masiva mo mamahi: ʻE ʻOtua, tuku ke hiki ki ʻolunga au ʻe hoʻo fakamoʻui.
30 I will praise the name of God with song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
Teu fakamālō ki he huafa ʻoe ʻOtua ʻaki ʻae hiva, pea te u hiki hake ia ʻaki ʻae fakafetaʻi.
31 And this will please the Lord better than an ox or bullock having horns and cloven hoofs.
Pea ʻe fiemālie lahi hake ai ʻa Sihova ʻi he meʻa ni, ʻi he pulu tangata pe ko e pulu ʻoku ai hono nifo mo e ngeʻesi vaʻe.
32 The meek will see this, and be rejoiced: ye that seek God, and your heart shall revive.
ʻE mamata ki he meʻa ni ʻae angavaivai, pea fiefia ai: pea ʻe moʻui homou loto ʻaia ʻoku kumi ki he ʻOtua.
33 For the Lord listeneth unto the needy, and his prisoners he despiseth not.
He ʻoku ongoʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae masiva, pea ʻoku ʻikai te ne manukiʻi ʻene kau pōpula.
34 Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.
Tuku ke fakamālō kiate ia ʻae langi mo māmani, ʻae ngaahi tahi, mo e meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku ngaue ʻi ai.
35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may abide there, and have it in possession:
Koeʻuhi ʻe fakamoʻui ʻe he ʻOtua ʻa Saione, pea langa ʻae ngaahi kolo ʻo Siuta: koeʻuhi ke nau nofo ʻi ai, ʻo maʻu ia ko honau tofiʻa.
36 And the seed of his servants shall inherit it; and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
ʻE maʻu foki ia ʻe he hako ʻo ʻene kau tamaioʻeiki: pea ʻe nofo ki ai ʻakinautolu ʻoku ʻofa ki hono huafa.
