Psalms 68
1 “To the chief musician, by David, a Psalm or song.” Oh that God would arise, that his enemies might be scattered, and those that hate him might flee before him.
För sångmästaren; av David; en psalm, en sång. Gud står upp; hans fiender varda förskingrade, och de som hata honom fly för hans ansikte.
2 As smoke is driven off, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
Såsom rök fördrives, så fördrivas de av dig; likasom vaxet smälter för eld, så förgås de ogudaktiga för Guds ansikte.
3 But the righteous shall rejoice; they shall exult before God: yea, they shall be exceedingly joyful.
Men de rättfärdiga äro glada, de fröjda sig inför Gud och jubla i glädje.
4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name; extol him who rideth upon the heavens: the Everlasting is his name, and rejoice before him.
Sjungen till Guds ära, lovsägen hans namn. Gören väg för honom som drager fram genom öknarna. Hans namn är HERREN, fröjdens inför honom;
5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
de faderlösas fader och änkors försvarare, Gud i sin heliga boning,
6 God places those who are solitary in the midst of their families: he bringeth out those who are bound unto happiness; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
en Gud som förhjälper de ensamma till ett hem, och som för de fångna ut till lycka; allenast de gensträviga måste bo i en öken.
7 O God, when thou didst go forth before thy people, when thou didst tread along through the wilderness—Selah—
Gud, när du drog ut i spetsen för ditt folk, när du gick fram i ödemarken, (Sela)
8 The earth quaked, also the heavens dropped at the presence of God, yea, this Sinai, at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
då bävade jorden, då utgöt himmelen sina flöden inför Guds ansikte; ja, Sinai bävade för Guds ansikte; Israels Guds.
9 Rain of beneficence didst thou pour down, O God, whereby thou didst truly strengthen thy heritage, when it was weary.
Ett nåderikt regn lät du falla, o Gud; ditt arvland, som försmäktade, vederkvickte du.
10 Thy assembly dwelt therein: thou didst prepare it with thy goodness for the afflicted [people]. O God,
Din skara fick bo däri; genom din godhet beredde du det åt de betryckta, o Gud.
11 The Lord gave [happy] tidings; they are published by the female messengers, a numerous host.
Herren låter höra sitt ord, stor är skaran av kvinnor som båda glädje:
12 The kings of the armies flee away—flee away: yet she that tarried at home divideth the spoil.
"Härskarornas konungar fly, de fly, och husmodern därhemma får utskifta byte.
13 When ye lie still between the folds [of your cattle], [ye will be like] the wings of the dove covered with sliver, and her pinions shining with flaming gold.
Viljen I då ligga stilla inom edra hägnader? Duvans vingar äro höljda i silver, och hennes fjädrar skimra av guld.
14 When the Almighty scattered kings in the midst of her, then even in darkness shone light [as pure] as snow.
När den Allsmäktige förströr konungarna i landet, faller snö på Salmon."
15 A mountain of God is the mount of Bashan; many peaks hath the mount of Bashan.
Ett Guds berg är Basans berg, ett högtoppigt berg är Basans berg.
16 Why watch ye enviously, ye many-peaked mountains, yonder mountain which God hath chosen for his residence? yea, the Lord will also dwell [there] for ever.
Men varför sen I så avogt, I höga berg, på det berg som Gud har utkorat till sitt säte, det där ock HERREN skall bo för alltid?
17 The chariots of God are two myriads; thousands of angels [follow him]: the Lord is among them: so is Sinai holy [among mountains].
Guds vagnar äro tiotusenden, tusen och åter tusen; Herren drog fram med dem, Sinai är nu i helgedomen.
18 Thou didst ascend on high, lead away captives, receive gifts among men, yea, even the rebellious, to dwell among them. O Lord God.
Du for upp i höjden, du tog fångar, du undfick gåvor bland människorna, ja, också de gensträviga skola bo hos HERREN Gud.
19 Blessed be the Lord; day by day he loadeth us [with benefits]; our God is our salvation. (Selah)
Lovad vare Herren! Dag efter dag bär han oss; Gud är vår frälsning. (Sela)
20 Our God is to us the God of salvation: and by the Eternal the Lord are the escapes from death.
Gud är för oss en Gud som frälsar, och hos HERREN, Herren finnes räddning från döden.
21 But God will crush the head of his enemies, the hairy skull of him who walketh in his guiltiness.
Men Gud sönderkrossar sina fienders huvuden, krossar hjässan på den som går där med skuld.
22 The Lord hath said, From Bashan will I bring back, I will bring back from the depths of the sea:
Herren säger: "Från Basan skall jag hämta dem, från havets djup skall jag hämta dem upp,
23 In order that thou mayest wade with thy feet in blood, feeding the tongue of thy dogs from the enemies' blood.
så att du kan stampa med din fot i blod och låta dina hundars tunga få sin del av fienderna."
24 Men see thy goings forth, O God! the goings forth of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.
Man ser, o Gud, ditt högtidståg, min Guds, min konungs, tåg inne i helgedomen.
25 First come singers, then follow players on instruments, in the midst of maidens playing on timbrels.
Främst gå sångare, harpospelare följa efter, mitt ibland unga kvinnor som slå på pukor.
26 In assemblies bless ye God, [praise] the Lord, ye sprung from Israel's fountain.
Lova Gud i församlingarna, loven Herren, I av Israels brunn.
27 There Benjamin the youngest leadeth them on, the princes of Judah in purple robes, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.
Där går Benjamin, den yngste, han för dem an; där går skaran av Juda furstar, Sebulons furstar, Naftalis furstar.
28 Thy God hath ordained the rule to thee: strengthen, O God, what thou hast wrought for us.
Din Gud har beskärt dig makt; så håll nu vid makt, o Gud, vad du har gjort för oss.
29 Because of thy temple over Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.
I ditt tempel i Jerusalem bäre konungar fram sina skänker åt dig.
30 Rebuke the wild beasts hiding among the reeds, the troops of steers among the calves of nations, that hasten along with presents of silver. He scattereth nations that are eager for the fight.
Näps odjuret i vassen, tjurarnas hop med deras kalvar, folken, må de ödmjukt hylla dig med sina silverstycken. Ja, han förströr de folk som finna behag i krig.
31 Nobles will come out of Egypt: Ethiopia will stretch forth eagerly her hands unto God.
De mäktige skola komma hit från Egypten, Etiopien skall skynda hit till Gud, med gåvor i händerna.
32 Kingdoms of the earth, sing unto God; sing praises unto the Lord: (Selah)
I riken på jorden, sjungen till Guds ära; lovsägen Herren, (Sela)
33 To him who rideth over the highest heavens, of ancient days: hear! he sendeth forth his voice, the voice of might.
honom som far fram på urtidshimlarnas himmel. Ja, där låter han höra sin röst, en mäktig röst.
34 Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the skies.
Given Gud makten; över Israel är hans härlighet, och hans makt är i skyarna.
35 Thou art tremendous, O God, from thy holy residences: O God of Israel, [thou art] he that givest strength and power unto [thy] people. Blessed be God.
Fruktansvärd är du, Gud, i din helgedom; Israels Gud, han giver makt och styrka åt sitt folk. Lovad vare Gud!
