Psalms 62
1 “To the chief musician, upon Jeduthun, a psalm of David.” Only in God my soul trusted in silence: from him cometh my salvation.
Ein Psalm Davids für Jeduthun, vorzusingen. Meine Seele ist stille zu Gott, der mir hilft.
2 Only he is my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defense: I shall not be greatly moved.
Denn er ist mein Hort, meine Hilfe, mein Schutz, daß mich kein Fall stürzen wird, wie groß er ist.
3 How long will ye devise mischief against a man? will ye all assault him murderously, as though he were a falling wall, a tottering fence?
Wie lange stellet ihr alle einem nach, daß ihr ihn erwürget, als eine hangende Wand und zerrissene Mauer?
4 Yea, from his height do they take counsel to cast [him] down; they delight in lies: with their mouth do they bless, but inwardly do they curse. (Selah)
Sie denken nur, wie sie ihn dämpfen, fleißigen sich der Lüge, geben gute Worte, aber im Herzen fluchen sie. (Sela)
5 Yea, in God hope in silence, my soul; for from him is my expectation.
Aber meine Seele harret nur auf Gott; denn er ist meine Hoffnung.
6 Only he is my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defence: I shall not be moved.
Er ist mein Hort, meine Hilfe und mein Schutz, daß ich nicht fallen werde.
7 With God are my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength [and] my protection are in God.
Bei Gott ist mein Heil, meine Ehre, der Fels meiner Stärke; meine Zuversicht ist auf Gott.
8 Trust in him at all times, O ye people; pour out before him your heart: God is a protection for us. (Selah)
Hoffet auf ihn allezeit, lieben Leute, schüttet euer Herz vor ihm aus! Gott ist unsere Zuversicht. (Sela)
9 Verily nought are the sons of common men, a lie the sons of the great; they must rise in the balance; they are altogether [lighter] than nought.
Aber Menschen sind doch ja nichts, große Leute fehlen auch; sie wägen weniger denn nichts, soviel ihrer ist.
10 Do not put your trust in defrauding, and be not rendered vain through robbery: if riches flourish, set not your heart [upon them].
Verlasset euch nicht auf Unrecht und Frevel; haltet euch nicht zu solchem, das nichts ist. Fällt euch Reichtum zu, so hänget das Herz nicht dran.
11 Once hath God spoken; [yea, ] twice [what] I have heard: that strength belongeth unto God.
Gott hat ein Wort geredet, das habe ich etlichemal gehöret, daß Gott allein mächtig ist.
12 And unto thee, O Lord, belongeth kindness; for thou wilt recompense every man according to his works.
