Psalms 61

1 “To the chief musician upon Neginah, by David.” Hear, O God, my entreaty; listen to my prayer.

Au maître-chantre. — Avec instruments à cordes. — De David. O Dieu, écoute ma supplication; Sois attentif à ma prière!

2 From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is too high for me.

Des extrémités de la terre, je crie vers toi, le coeur défaillant. Conduis-moi sur le rocher, inaccessible pour moi!

3 For thou hast been a shelter unto me, a strong tower against the enemy.

Car tu as été pour moi un refuge, Une forte citadelle contre l'ennemi.

4 Let me sojourn in thy tent to all eternity; let me be sheltered under the covert of thy wings. (Selah)

Je séjournerai dans ta tente à perpétuité; Je me retirerai à l'abri de tes ailes. (Pause)

5 For thou, O God, hast truly listened to my vows: thou hast given back the heritage of those that fear thy name.

C'est toi, ô Dieu, qui as entendu mes voeux, Et qui m'as donné l'héritage de ceux qui craignent ton nom.

6 Oh, add days unto the king's days: may his years be as of many generations.

Ajoute des jours aux jours du roi; Que ses années durent d'âge en âge!

7 May he abide for ever before God: ordain that kindness and truth may guard him.

Qu'il siège à toujours devant Dieu! Donne-lui ta grâce et ta fidélité pour sauvegarde!

8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may pay my vows day by day.

Alors, en chantant ton nom à perpétuité. Je m'acquitterai chaque jour de mes voeux.
