Psalms 61

1 “To the chief musician upon Neginah, by David.” Hear, O God, my entreaty; listen to my prayer.

Pour le chef musicien. Pour un instrument à cordes. Par David. Entends mon cri, Dieu. Écoutez ma prière.

2 From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is too high for me.

De l'extrémité de la terre, je t'appellerai quand mon cœur sera accablé. Conduis-moi au rocher qui est plus haut que moi.

3 For thou hast been a shelter unto me, a strong tower against the enemy.

Car tu as été pour moi un refuge, une tour forte de l'ennemi.

4 Let me sojourn in thy tent to all eternity; let me be sheltered under the covert of thy wings. (Selah)

J'habiterai dans ta tente pour toujours. Je me réfugierai sous l'abri de tes ailes. (Selah)

5 For thou, O God, hast truly listened to my vows: thou hast given back the heritage of those that fear thy name.

Car toi, Dieu, tu as entendu mes vœux. Tu m'as donné l'héritage de ceux qui craignent ton nom.

6 Oh, add days unto the king's days: may his years be as of many generations.

Tu prolongeras la vie du roi. Ses années seront pour des générations.

7 May he abide for ever before God: ordain that kindness and truth may guard him.

Il sera intronisé dans la présence de Dieu pour toujours. Nommez votre bonté et votre vérité, afin qu'elles le préservent.

8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may pay my vows day by day.

Et je chanterai à jamais les louanges de ton nom, pour que je puisse accomplir mes vœux quotidiennement.
