< Psalms 6 >
1 “To the chief musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith, a psalm of David.” O Lord, correct me not in thy anger, and chastise me not in thy wrath.
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Nekina ʻi he Semini, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ʻE Sihova, ʻoua naʻa ke valokiʻi au ʻi ho houhau, pe tautea au ʻi ho houhau vela.
2 Be gracious unto me, O Lord; for I am withering away; heal me, O Lord; for my bones are terrified.
ʻAloʻofa mai kiate au, ʻE Sihova; he ʻoku ou vaivai: ʻE Sihova, fakamoʻui au he kuo mamahi hoku ngaahi hui.
3 And my soul is greatly terrified; but thou, O Lord, how long yet—?
ʻOku mamahi lahi foki mo hoku laumālie: ka ko koe, ʻE Sihova, ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa?
4 Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: help me for the sake of thy kindness.
Tafoki mai, ʻE Sihova, fakahaofi hoku laumālie: ʻoiauē, fakamoʻui au koeʻuhi ko hoʻo ʻaloʻofa.
5 For in death men do not remember thee: in the nether world, who shall give thee thanks? (Sheol )
He ʻoku ʻikai ha fakamanatu kiate koe ʻi he mate: ko hai te ne fakafetaʻi kiate koe ʻi he faʻitoka? (Sheol )
6 I am weary with my sighing; I flood every night my bed; With my tears I moisten my couch.
Kuo u vaivai ʻi heʻeku faʻa toʻe; ʻoku ou fakatētē hoku mohenga ʻi he pō kotoa; ʻoku ou fakaviviku ʻa hoku mohenga ʻaki hoku loʻimata.
7 My eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all my assailants.
Kuo tutue hoku mata ko e meʻa ʻi he mamahi; ʻoku fakaʻaʻau ke motuʻa ia koeʻuhi ko hoku ngaahi fili.
8 Depart from me, all ye workers of wickedness; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.
ʻAlu ʻiate au, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ʻoku fai kovi; he kuo ongoʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae leʻo ʻo ʻeku tangi.
9 The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will accept my prayer.
Kuo fanongo ʻa Sihova ki heʻeku hū tāumaʻu; pea ʻe maʻu ʻe Sihova ʻa ʻeku lotu.
10 Ashamed and greatly terrified shall become all my enemies; they will turn round, and be made ashamed in a moment.
Tuku ke mā mo mamahi lahi ʻa hoku ngaahi fili kotoa pē: tuku ke nau foki pea mā fakafokifā pe.
