Psalms 56
1 “To the chief musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, by David, a Michtham, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.” Be gracious unto me, O God; for man longeth to swallow me up; all the time he oppresseth me fighting.
Salmo “Mictão” de Davi para o regente, conforme “pombas silenciosas ao longe”, quando os filisteus o prenderam em Gate: Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, porque o homem procura me devorar; todo o dia ele me oprime em lutas.
2 Those that regard me with envy long to swallow [me] up all the time; for many are they that fight against me, O thou Most High.
Os inimigos que me espiam querem [me] devorar todo dia; porque muitos lutam contra mim, ó Altíssimo.
3 The day [when] I am afraid, I will still trust in thee.
No dia em que eu tiver medo, eu confiarei em ti.
4 In God will I praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid: what can flesh do unto me?
Por causa de Deus eu louvarei sua palavra; confio em Deus, não temerei; o que pode a mera carne fazer contra mim?
5 All the day they wrest my words: against me are all their thoughts for evil.
Todos os dias eles distorcem minhas palavras; todos os pensamentos deles sobre mim são para o mal.
6 They come together in troops, they hide themselves, they are those that watch my heels, as though they hoped [to take] my soul.
Eles se reúnem e se escondem; eles espiam os meus passos, como que esperando a [morte] de minha alma.
7 Because of their wrong-doing let me escape from them: in anger cast down the people, O God.
Por acaso eles escaparão em [suas] maldades? Derruba com ira aos povos, ó Deus.
8 My wanderings hast thou well numbered: put thou my tears into thy bottle; behold, they are numbered by thee.
Tu contaste as voltas que dei por causa de meu sofrimento; põe minhas lágrimas em teu odre; não estão elas em teu livro?
9 Then shall my enemies retire backward on the day when I call [on thee]: this I know—that God is for me.
No dia em que eu clamar, então meus inimigos se voltarão para trás; isto eu sei, que Deus [está] comigo.
10 In God will I praise the word: in the Lord will I praise the word.
Por causa de Deus eu louvarei [sua] palavra; por causa do SENHOR eu louvarei [sua] palavra.
11 In God have I put my trust; I will not be afraid: what can man do unto me?
Em Deus eu confio, não temerei; o que o homem pode me fazer?
12 Upon me, O God, [rest] thy vows: I will pay thanksgiving offerings unto thee.
Tuas promessas, SENHOR, estão sobre mim; oferecerei agradecimentos a ti;
13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death—yea, behold, my feet from slipping, that I may walk before God in the light of the life.
Porque tu resgataste minha alma da morte, e meus pés não [deixaste] tropeçar; para [eu] andar diante de Deus na luz dos viventes.
