Psalms 54

1 “To the chief musician on Neginoth, a Maskil of David, When the Ziphim came and said to Saul, Behold, David is hiding himself with us.” O God, by thy name save me, and by thy strength grant me justice.

«Εις τον πρώτον μουσικόν, επί Νεγινώθ· Μασχίλ του Δαβίδ, ότε ήλθον οι Ζιφαίοι και είπον προς τον Σαούλ, Δεν είναι κεκρυμμένος ο Δαβίδ παρ' ημίν; » Θεέ, σώσον με εν τω ονόματί σου και εν τη δυνάμει σου κρίνον με.

2 O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.

Θεέ, άκουσον της προσευχής μου· ακροάσθητι των λόγων του στόματός μου.

3 For strangers [to goodness] are risen up against me, and powerful oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. (Selah)

Διότι ξένοι ηγέρθησαν κατ' εμού, και καταδυνάσται ζητούσι την ψυχήν μου· δεν έθεσαν τον Θεόν ενώπιον αυτών. Διάψαλμα.

4 Behold, God is a helper unto me: the Lord is among those that uphold my soul.

Ιδού, ο Θεός με βοηθεί· ο Κύριος είναι μετά των υποστηριζόντων την ψυχήν μου.

5 He will cause the evil to return upon those that regard me with envy: in thy truth cut them off.

Θέλει στρέψει το κακόν επί τους εχθρούς μου· εξολόθρευσον αυτούς εν τη αληθεία σου.

6 I will liberally sacrifice unto thee: I will give thanks unto thy name, O Lord; for it is good.

Αυτοπροαιρέτως θέλω θυσιάσει εις σέ· θέλω δοξολογεί το όνομά σου, Κύριε, διότι είναι αγαθόν.

7 For out of all distress hath he delivered me: and my eye hath seen [its desire] on my enemies.

Διότι εκ πάσης στενοχωρίας με ελύτρωσε, και ο οφθαλμός μου είδε την εκδίκησιν επί τους εχθρούς μου.
