< Psalms 5 >
1 “To the chief musician upon Nechiloth, a psalm of David.” To my words give ear, O Lord, have regard to my mediation.
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Nekiloti, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. Ke ke fofonga mai ki heʻeku ngaahi lea, ʻE Sihova, tokanga ki heʻeku fakalaulauloto.
2 Listen unto the voice of my loud cry, my King, and my God, when unto thee I pray.
Ke ke fanongo ki he leʻo ʻo ʻeku tangi, ʻE hoku tuʻi, mo hoku ʻOtua: he te u lotu pe kiate koe.
3 O Lord! in the morning do thou hear my voice: in the morning will I set in order [my prayer] before thee, and 1ook up with hope.
Ko hoku leʻo te ke ongoʻi ʻE Sihova, ʻi he pongipongi; ʻi he pongipongi te u ʻohake ʻeku lotu kiate koe, pea u hanga hake.
4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: evil cannot abide with thee.
He ʻoku ʻikai ko e ʻOtua koe ʻoku fiemālie ʻi he angahala: pea ʻe ʻikai nonofo mo koe ʻae kovi.
5 The arrogant cannot stand up before thy eyes: thou hatest all workers of wickedness.
ʻE ʻikai tuʻu ʻi ho ʻao ʻae kau vale: ʻoku ke fehiʻa ki he kakai fai kovi kotoa pē.
6 Thou wilt destroy those that speak lies: the man of blood and deceit the Lord abhorreth.
Te ke fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu ʻoku lea loi: ʻe fakaliliʻa ʻa Sihova ki he tangata pani toto mo kākā.
7 But as for me—in the abundance of thy kindness will I enter thy house: I will bow myself down before thy holy temple in the fear of thee.
Ka ko au, te u hū ki ho fale ʻi he lahi ʻo hoʻo ʻaloʻofa: pea ʻi he manavahē kiate koe te u hū ʻi he faletapu ʻo hoʻo māʻoniʻoni.
8 O Lord, lead me in thy righteousness because of those that regard me enviously; make straight before me thy way.
Tataki au, ʻE Sihova, ʻi hoʻo māʻoniʻoni koeʻuhi ko hoku ngaahi fili; fakatotonu ho hala ʻi hoku mata.
9 For there is not in their mouth any sincerity; their inward part is full of deception; an open sepulchre is their throat: they flatter with their tongue.
He ʻoku ʻikai ha moʻoni ʻi honau ngutu; ʻoku mātuʻaki kovi honau loto; ko honau kia ko e fonualoto kuo matangaki; ʻoku nau lapu ʻaki honau ʻelelo.
10 Condemn them, O God: let them fall through their own counsels; for the multitude of their transgressions cast them down; for they have rebelled against thee.
Ke ke fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu, ʻE ʻOtua; tuku ke nau hinga ʻi heʻenau ngaahi fakakaukau ʻanautolu; ke ke lī kituʻa ʻakinautolu ʻi he lahi ʻo ʻenau talangataʻa; he kuo nau angatuʻu kiate koe.
11 Then will rejoice all those that put their trust in thee; for ever will they shout for joy, when thou protectest them: and then will exult in thee those that love thy name.
Kae tuku ke fiefia ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻaia ʻoku falala kiate koe: ke nau kalanga maʻuaipē ʻi he fiefia, ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻo maluʻi ʻakinautolu: tuku ke fiefia ʻiate koe ʻakinautolu ʻoku ʻofa ki ho huafa.
12 For thou wilt bless the righteous, O Lord; as with a shield wilt thou encompass him with favor.
He ko koe, ʻE Sihova, te ke tāpuaki ʻae māʻoniʻoni; te ke kāpui ʻaki ia ʻae ʻofa ʻo hangē ko e fakaū.
