Psalms 49
1 “To the chief musician, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the perishable world:
೧ಪ್ರಧಾನಗಾಯಕನ ಕೀರ್ತನಸಂಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದು; ಕೋರಹೀಯರ ಕೀರ್ತನೆ. ಸಕಲ ದೇಶಗಳ ಜನರೇ, ಕೇಳಿರಿ; ಭೂಲೋಕದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ.
2 Both the sons of the low and the sons of the high, rich and needy, altogether.
೨ಜನರೇ, ಜನಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೇ, ಬಡವರೇ ಮತ್ತು ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರೇ, ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಆಲಿಸಿರಿ.
3 My mouth shall speak wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
೩ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿ ಸುಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸುವುದು; ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ಧ್ಯಾನವು ವಿವೇಕದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದೆ.
4 I will incline my ear to a parable: I will open with the harp my riddle.
೪ನಾನು ಆತನ ಸಾಮ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು, ಕಿನ್ನರಿಯನ್ನು ನುಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಅದರ ಗೂಡಾರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುವೆನು.
5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my oppressors encompasseth me?—
೫ಕೇಡಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕೆ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಕು? ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ಮೋಸದಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವಾಗ ನಾನು ಏಕೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಕು?
6 Of those that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves of the multitude of their riches?
೬ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ನಂಬಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ತಾವು ಬಹಳ ಆಸ್ತಿವಂತರೆಂದು ಗರ್ವದಿಂದ ಉಬ್ಬಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
7 No one can in any wise redeem his brother, nor can he give to God redemption money for himself;
೭ಆದರೆ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರದಂತೆ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಈಡನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲಾರನು.
8 For the ransom of their soul is too costly, and it is omitted for ever.
೮ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯಲು, ಅಪಾರ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡಿಸಲಾರನು.
9 And should he still live for ever? not see the pit?
೯ಮರಣವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಹಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ, ಸಾಲುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅಂಥ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಿಷ್ಫಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕು.
10 For he must see that wise men die, that together the fool and the brutish person perish and leave to others their wealth.
೧೦ಸುಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಸಾಯುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತೇವಲ್ಲಾ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪಶುಗಳಂತಿರುವ ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರು ನಂಬಿದ್ದ ಆಸ್ತಿಯು ಇತರರ ಪಾಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
11 Their inward thought is, that their houses are to be for ever, their dwelling-places, from generation to generation; they call them by their own names in [various] countries.
೧೧ಅವರ ಸಮಾಧಿಯೇ ಶಾಶ್ವತಮಂದಿರವು; ತಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸಗಳು ತಲತಲಾಂತರಕ್ಕೂ ಇರುವುದೆಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸಿ, ಭೂಮಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
12 Nevertheless man in [his] splendor endureth not: he is like the beasts [that] perish.
೧೨ಆದರೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಘನವಾದ ಪದವಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಸ್ಥಿರವಲ್ಲ; ನಾಶವಾಗುವ ಪಶುಗಳಂತೆಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
13 This is their way, their folly: yet their posterity will take pleasure in their sayings. (Selah)
೧೩ಮೂರ್ಖರಿಗೂ ಅವರ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಡೆಯುವವರಿಗೂ ಇದೇ ಗತಿ. (ಸೆಲಾ)
14 Like flocks are they thrust into the nether world; death will feed them; but the upright shall have dominion over them in that morning, and their form wasteth away in the nether world, [taken away] from their own dwelling. (Sheol h7585)
೧೪ಅವರು ಕುರಿಗಳಂತೆ ಪಾತಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವರು; ಮೃತ್ಯುವೇ ಅವರ ಪಾಲಕನು. ಅವರು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಪಾತಾಳಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದುಹೋಗುವರು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಿವಾಸವಿಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ, ಪಾತಾಳವು ಅವರ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದು. (Sheol h7585)
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the nether world; for he will take me away. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
೧೫ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಮೃತ್ಯುಹಸ್ತದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕಾರಮಾಡುವನು. (ಸೆಲಾ) (Sheol h7585)
16 Be not thou afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
೧೬ಒಬ್ಬನ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವೂ, ಗೃಹವೈಭವವೂ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದಾಗ ಕಳವಳಪಡಬೇಡ.
17 For when he dieth he can take nothing away; his glory will not descend after him.
೧೭ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವಾಗ ಏನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನ ವೈಭವವು ಅವನೊಡನೆ ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
18 For though he bless his soul during his life, and men praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself:
೧೮ಸಿರಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ನೆರೆಯವರ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೆ ತಪ್ಪದು ಎಂಬಂತೆ, ಅವನು ಜೀವಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ್ಮಸ್ತುತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಜನರಸ್ತುತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕೂಡಿದವನಾದರೂ,
19 She shall go to the generation of his fathers, unto eternity will these never see light.
೧೯ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಅವರಂತೆಯೇ, ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
20 Man, though in splendor, who understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish. °
೨೦ವಿವೇಕಹೀನ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಘನವಾದ ಪದವಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಶಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುವ ಪಶುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
