Psalms 48
1 “A song and psalm by the sons of Korach.” Great is the Lord, and highly praised in the city of our God, [in] his holy mountain.
একটি সংগীত। কোরহ বংশের সন্তানদের একটি গীত। আমাদের ঈশ্বরের নগরীতে এবং তাঁর পবিত্র পর্বতে, সদাপ্রভু মহান, আর তিনি সর্বোচ্চ প্রশংসার যোগ্য।
2 A beautiful district, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, the farthest north, the city of the great King.
কী সুন্দর সেই উচ্চভূমি, যা সারা পৃথিবীর আনন্দস্থল, সাফোনের উচ্চতার মতো সিয়োন পর্বত, যা মহান রাজার নগরী।
3 God is become known in her palaces as a defence.
ঈশ্বর, সেই নগরীর অট্টালিকা সমূহের মধ্যে উচ্চদুর্গ বলে নিজেকে প্রকাশ করেছেন।
4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they are passed away together.
পৃথিবীর রাজারা দলে দলে যোগ দিয়েছে এবং নগরীর বিরুদ্ধে অভিযান করেছে।
5 They indeed saw—[and] so they were astonished; they were terrified, they were confounded.
কিন্তু তারা যখন তাকে দেখেছে, তারা বিস্মিত হয়েছে, আতঙ্কিত হয়েছে আর পালিয়ে গেছে।
6 Trembling seized on them there, pain, as on a woman in travail.
আতঙ্ক তাদের সেখানে গ্রাস করেছিল, এবং প্রসববেদনায় ক্লিষ্ট মহিলার মতো যন্ত্রণায় কুঁকড়ে গিয়েছিল।
7 With the east wind thou breakest the ships of Tharshish.
পূবের বাতাসে চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ হওয়া তর্শীশের জাহাজের মতো তুমি তাদের ধ্বংস করেছিলে।
8 As we have heard, so have we seen [it] in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. (Selah)
আমরা যেমন শুনেছি, সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভুর নগরীতে, আমাদের ঈশ্বরের নগরীতে তেমন দেখেছি: ঈশ্বর চিরকাল তাকে সুরক্ষিত রাখেন।
9 We have reflected on thy kindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
তোমার মন্দিরে, হে ঈশ্বর, আমরা তোমার অবিচল প্রেমে ধ্যান করি।
10 As thy name is, O God, so is thy praise over the ends of the earth: of righteousness is thy right hand full.
তোমার নামের মতো, হে ঈশ্বর, তোমার প্রশংসা পৃথিবীর প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত পৌঁছায়; তোমার শক্তিশালী ডান হাত ধার্মিকতায় পূর্ণ।
11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.
তোমার ন্যায়বিচারে, সিয়োন পর্বত উল্লাস করে, যিহূদার গ্রামগুলি আনন্দিত হয়।
12 Compass Zion about, and walk round about her; number her towers.
যাও, জেরুশালেম নগরী পরিদর্শন করো, তার দুর্গসকল গণনা করো;
13 Direct your mind to her outer wall, mark carefully her palaces: in order that ye may tell it to the latest generation.
তার দৃঢ় প্রাচীর লক্ষ্য করো, তার অট্টালিকাগুলি দেখো, যেন তুমি আগামী প্রজন্মের কাছে এই সবের বর্ণনা করতে পারো।
14 For this One is God, our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
কারণ এই ঈশ্বর অনন্তকাল ধরে আমাদের ঈশ্বর; তিনি শেষ পর্যন্ত আমাদের পথপ্রদর্শক হবেন।
