Psalms 44
1 “To the chief musician, for the sons of Korach, a Maskil.” O God, with our ears have we heard, our fathers have told us, deeds which thou hadst done in their days, in times of old.
૧મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; કોરાના દીકરાઓનું (ગીત). માસ્કીલ. હે ઈશ્વર, જે કૃત્યો અમારા પિતૃઓના સમયમાં એટલે પુરાતન કાળમાં, તમે જે કામો કર્યાં હતાં, તે વિષે તેઓએ અમને કહ્યું છે તે અમે અમારા કાનોએ સાંભળ્યું છે.
2 Thou, with thy hand, didst indeed drive out nations, and plant them; thou didst ill-treat people, and cause them to spread out.
૨તમે તમારે હાથે વિદેશીઓને નસાડી મૂક્યા, અને તમે તમારા લોકોને વસાવ્યા; તમે વિદેશી લોકો પર દુઃખ લાવ્યા, પણ તમે અમારા લોકોને દેશમાં વસાવ્યા.
3 For not by their sword did they obtain possession of the land, and their own arm brought them no victory; but thy right hand, and thy arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst given them thy favor.
૩તેઓએ પોતાની તલવાર વડે દેશને કબજે કર્યો નહોતો, વળી તેઓએ પોતાના ભુજ વડે પોતાનો બચાવ કર્યો નહોતો; પણ તમારા જમણા હાથે, તમારા ભુજે અને તમારા મુખના પ્રકાશે તેમને બચાવ્યા હતા, કેમ કે તમે તેઓ પર પ્રસન્ન હતા.
4 Thou art my King, O God: ordain salvation for Jacob.
૪તમે મારા ઈશ્વર તથા રાજા છો; તમે યાકૂબને વિજય ફરમાવો.
5 Through thee will we butt down our assailants: through thy name will we tread under foot our opponents.
૫તમારી સહાયતાથી અમે અમારા વૈરીઓને જમીનદોસ્ત કરી નાખીશું; તમારે નામે અમારી વિરુદ્ધ ઊઠનારને છૂંદી નાખીશું.
6 For not in my bow will I trust, and my sword shall not help me.
૬કેમ કે હું મારા ધનુષ્ય પર ભરોસો રાખીશ નહિ, મારી તલવાર પણ મારો બચાવ કરી શકશે નહિ.
7 But thou helpest us against our assailants, and those that hate us thou puttest to shame.
૭પણ અમારા વૈરીઓથી તમે અમને બચાવ્યા છે અને જેઓ અમને ધિક્કારે છે તેઓને બદનામ કર્યા છે.
8 Of God we boast all the day, and to thy name will we give thanks for ever. (Selah)
૮આખો દિવસ અમે ઈશ્વરમાં બડાશ મારી છે અને અમે સદાકાળ તમારા નામની આભારસ્તુતિ કરીશું. (સેલાહ)
9 But [now] thou hast cast off, and put us to the blush, and goest not forth with our armies.
૯પણ હવે તમે અમને દૂર કર્યા છે અને શરમિંદા કર્યા છે અને અમારા સૈન્યોની સાથે તમે બહાર આવતા નથી.
10 Thou causest us to turn back from before our assailant: and they who hate us take spoil for themselves.
૧૦તમે શત્રુઓ આગળ અમારી પાસે પીઠ ફેરવાવો છો; અને જેઓ અમને ધિક્કારે છે તેઓ પોતાની મરજી પ્રમાણે અમને લૂંટે છે.
11 Thou givest us up like sheep for food, and among the nations hast thou dispersed us.
૧૧તમે અમને કાપવાનાં ઘેટાંની જેમ બનાવી દીધા છે અને વિદેશીઓમાં અમને વિખેરી નાખ્યા છે.
12 Thou sellest thy people for no value, and acquirest no gain by their price.
૧૨તમે તમારા લોકોને મફત વેચી દીધા છે; તેઓની કિંમતથી અમને કંઈ લાભ થતો નથી.
13 Thou renderest us a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and a derision to those that are round about us.
૧૩અમારા પડોશીઓ આગળ તમે અમને નિંદારૂપ બનાવ્યા છે, અમારી આસપાસના લોકો સમક્ષ અમને હાંસીરૂપ તથા તિરસ્કારરૂપ બનાવ્યા છે.
14 Thou renderest us a by-word among the nations, a shaking of the head among the people.
૧૪તમે અમને વિદેશીઓમાં કહાણીરૂપ અને લોકોમાં માથાં હલાવવાનું કારણ કરો છો.
15 All the day is my disgrace before me, and the shame of my face covereth me;
૧૫આખો દિવસ મારી આગળથી મારું અપમાન ખસતું નથી અને મારા મુખ પર થતી શરમિંદગીએ મને ઢાંકી દીધો છે.
16 Because of the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and him that seeketh vengeance.
૧૬નિંદા તથા દુર્ભાષણ કરનાર બોલને લીધે અને શત્રુ તથા વેર વાળનારની દ્રષ્ટિને લીધે આવું થાય છે.
17 All this is come over us, yet have we not forgotten thee; nor have we dealt falsely by thy covenant;
૧૭આ બધું અમારા પર આવી પડ્યું છે; તોપણ અમે તમને વીસરી ગયા નથી અને તમારા કરાર પ્રતિ વિશ્વાસઘાતી બન્યા નથી.
18 Our heart is not moved backward, nor hath our step turned aside from thy path:
૧૮અમારું હૃદય તમારાથી પાછું હઠી ગયું નથી; અમારાં પગલાં તમારા માર્ગ પરથી અન્ય માર્ગે વળ્યાં નથી.
19 Even when thou didst crush us in the abode of monsters, and cover us with the shadow of death.
૧૯તોપણ તમે અમને શિયાળવાંની જગ્યામાં કચડ્યા છે અને અમને મોતની છાયાથી ઢાંકી દીધા છે
20 If we had forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange God:
૨૦જો અમે અમારા ઈશ્વરનું નામ ભૂલી ગયા હોઈએ અથવા પારકા દેવોની તરફ અમારા હાથ ફેલાવ્યા હોય,
21 Would not God search out this? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
૨૧તો શું ઈશ્વર તે શોધી ન કાઢત? કેમ કે તે હૃદયની ગુપ્ત વાતો જાણે છે.
22 But for thy sake are we slain all the day; we are counted as flocks [destined] for slaughter.
૨૨કેમ કે તમારે લીધે અમે આખો દિવસ માર્યા જઈએ છીએ; કાપવાના ઘેટાંની જેવા અમને ગણવામાં આવે છે.
23 Awake, wherefore wilt thou sleep, O Lord? arise, abandon us not for ever.
૨૩હે પ્રભુ, જાગો, તમે કેમ ઊંઘો છો? ઊઠો, અમને સદાને માટે દૂર ન કરો.
24 Wherefore wilt thou hide thy face, wilt thou forget our misery, and our oppression?
૨૪તમે તમારું મુખ અમારાથી શા માટે અવળું ફેરવ્યું છે? અને અમારું સંકટ તથા અમારી સતાવણી કેમ વીસરી જાઓ છો?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our body cleaveth unto the earth.
૨૫કેમ કે અમારો જીવ જમીન સુધી નમી ગયો છે; અને અમે પેટ ઘસડતા થયાં છીએ.
26 Arise unto our help, and redeem us for the sake of thy kindness.
૨૬અમને મદદ કરવાને ઊઠો અને તમારી કૃપાથી અમને છોડાવો.
