Psalms 41
1 “To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” Happy is he that careth for the poor: on the day of evil will the Lord deliver him.
Zborovođi. Psalam. Davidov. Blago onome koji misli na uboga i slaba: u dan nevolje Jahve će ga spasiti!
2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; he shall be made happy on the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the revengeful desire of his enemies.
Jahve će ga štititi i živa sačuvati, sreću mu dati na zemlji i neće ga predati na volju dušmanima.
3 The Lord will sustain him upon the bed of painful disease: thou changest all his couch in his sickness.
Jahve će ga ukrijepiti na postelji boli, bolest mu okrenuti u snagu.
4 I said, Lord, be gracious unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
Zavapih: “Jahve, smiluj mi se, iscijeli mi dušu jer tebi sagriješih!”
5 My enemies speak evil of me, When will he die, and his name perish?
Neprijatelji zlo govore o meni: “Kad će umrijeti i kad će mu nestati imena?”
6 And if he come to see [me], he speaketh falsely: his heart gathereth wickedness to itself; he goeth abroad [and] speaketh it.
I dođe li tko da me posjeti, himbeno govori, u srcu pakosti skuplja i vani opada.
7 Altogether whisper against me all that hate me: against me do they devise my injury.
Mrzitelji moji svi složno šapuću o meni; zlo mi dosuđuju:
8 “His godless deed [say they] is poured out over him: as he lieth there he will never more rise up again.”
“Pogubna se pošast na nj oborila.” Ili: “Tko jednom leže, više ne ustaje.”
9 Yea, even the man that should have sought my welfare, in whom I trusted, who eateth my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
Pa i prijatelj moj u koga se uzdah, koji blagovaše kruh moj, petu na me podiže.
10 But thou, O Lord, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite it unto them.
A ti, Jahve, smiluj se meni i podigni me da im mogu uzvratiti.
11 By this do I know that thou art pleased with me, that my enemy doth not triumph over me.
Po tome ću znati da sam mio tebi: što se dušmanin moj neće veseliti nada mnom.
12 But as for me, thou upholdest me in my integrity, and placest me before thy presence for ever.
A mene ćeš zdrava uzdržati i pred svoje me lice staviti dovijeka.
13 Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen. BEGIM
Blagoslovljen Jahve, Bog Izraelov, od vijeka do vijeka! Tako neka bude! Amen!
