< Psalms 4 >
1 “To the chief musician on Neginoth, a psalm of David.” When I call, answer me, O God of my righteousness: amidst distress thou hast [ever] granted me enlargement; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer.
Fún adarí orin. Pẹ̀lú ohun èlò orin olókùn. Saamu ti Dafidi. Dá mi lóhùn nígbà tí mo bá pè ọ́, ìwọ Ọlọ́run òdodo mi. Fún mi ní ìdáǹdè nínú ìpọ́njú mi; ṣàánú fún mi, kí o sì gbọ́ àdúrà mi.
2 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame? [how long] will ye love vanity, will ye seek for lies? (Selah)
Báwo ni yóò ṣe pẹ́ tó, ẹ̀yin ọmọ ènìyàn, tí ẹ ó ṣe sọ ògo mi di ìtìjú? Báwo ni yóò ṣe pẹ́ tó, tí ẹ̀yin yóò ṣe fẹ́ràn ìtànjẹ àti tí ẹ̀yin yóò fi máa wá ọlọ́run èké?
3 But know that the Lord hath set apart the pious for himself: the Lord will hear when I call on him.
Ṣùgbọ́n kí ẹ mọ̀ pé, Olúwa ti ya ẹni olódodo sọ́tọ̀ fún ara rẹ̀; Olúwa yóò gbọ́ nígbà tí mo bá pè é.
4 Tremble, and sin not: commune with your heart upon your bed, and be still (Selah)
Ẹ bínú ẹ má ṣe ṣẹ̀, nígbà tí ẹ bá wà lórí ibùsùn yín, ẹ bá ọkàn yín sọ̀rọ̀, kí ó sì dákẹ́ jẹ́.
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
Ẹ rú ẹbọ òdodo kí ẹ sì gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Olúwa.
6 Many say, “Who will show us happiness? Let shine brightly over us the light of thy countenance, O Lord.”
Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ló ń béèrè pé, “Ta ni yóò ṣe rere fún wa?” Olúwa, jẹ́ kí ojú rẹ mọ́lẹ̀ sí wa lára,
7 [But] thou hast placed more joy in my heart than at the time when their corn and their wine were increased.
Ìwọ ti fi ayọ̀ púpọ̀ kún ọkàn mi ju ìgbà tí hóró irúgbìn àti wáìnì tuntun wọ́n pọ̀ fún mi lọ.
8 In peace, altogether, will I lay me down and sleep; for thou, Lord, alone, causest me to dwell in safety.
Èmi yóò dùbúlẹ̀, èmi ó sì sùn ní àlàáfíà, nítorí ìwọ nìkan, Olúwa, ni o mú mi gbé láìléwu.
