< Psalms 4 >
1 “To the chief musician on Neginoth, a psalm of David.” When I call, answer me, O God of my righteousness: amidst distress thou hast [ever] granted me enlargement; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer.
Kwa mwimbishaji. Kwa ala za nyuzi za muziki. Zaburi ya Daudi. Nijibu nikuitapo, Ee Mungu wangu mwenye haki! Nipumzishe katika shida zangu; nirehemu, usikie ombi langu.
2 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame? [how long] will ye love vanity, will ye seek for lies? (Selah)
Enyi watu, mtabadilisha utukufu wangu kuwa aibu mpaka lini? Mtapenda udanganyifu na kufuata miungu ya uongo mpaka lini?
3 But know that the Lord hath set apart the pious for himself: the Lord will hear when I call on him.
Fahamuni hakika kwamba Bwana amewatenga wale wamchao kwa ajili yake; Bwana atanisikia nimwitapo.
4 Tremble, and sin not: commune with your heart upon your bed, and be still (Selah)
Katika hasira yako, usitende dhambi. Mkiwa vitandani mwenu, mtulie kimya mkiichunguza mioyo yenu.
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
Toeni dhabihu zilizo haki; mtegemeeni Bwana.
6 Many say, “Who will show us happiness? Let shine brightly over us the light of thy countenance, O Lord.”
Wengi wanauliza, “Ni nani awezaye kutuonyesha jema lolote?” Ee Bwana, tuangazie nuru ya uso wako.
7 [But] thou hast placed more joy in my heart than at the time when their corn and their wine were increased.
Wewe umejaza moyo wangu kwa furaha kubwa kuliko watu waliopata nafaka na divai kwa wingi.
8 In peace, altogether, will I lay me down and sleep; for thou, Lord, alone, causest me to dwell in safety.
Nitajilaza chini na kulala kwa amani, kwa kuwa wewe peke yako, Ee Bwana, waniwezesha kukaa kwa salama.
