Psalms 38

1 “A psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.” O Lord, correct me not in thy wrath, nor chastise me in thy fury.

Jehová, no me reprendas con tu furor, ni me castigues con tu ira.

2 For thy arrows have penetrated into me, and thy hand presseth down upon me.

Porque tus saetas descendieron en mí; y sobre mí ha descendido tu mano.

3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thy indignation: there is no peace in my bones because of my sin.

No hay sanidad en mi carne a causa de tu ira: no hay paz en mis huesos a causa de mi pecado.

4 For my iniquities are passed over my head, as a heavy burden are they too heavy for me.

Porque mis iniquidades han pasado sobre mi cabeza: como carga pesada, se han agravado sobre mí.

5 Foul, corrupt are my bruises because of my folly.

Pudriéronse, y corrompiéronse mis llagas a causa de mi locura.

6 I am bent double; I am bowed down to the utmost; all the day long I go about full of grief.

Estoy encorvado, estoy humillado en gran manera: todo el día ando enlutado.

7 For my loins are filled with a burning disease, and there is no soundness in my flesh.

Porque mis caderas están llenas de ardor: y no hay sanidad en mi carne.

8 I am made faint and crushed to the utmost; I cry aloud because of the groaning of my heart.

Estoy debilitado y molido en gran manera: rugiendo estoy a causa del alboroto de mi corazón.

9 Lord, before thee is all my longing; and my sighing is from thee not hidden.

Señor, delante de ti están todos mis deseos: y mi suspiro no te es oculto.

10 My heart is restless, my strength hath left me; and the light of my eyes—that also is no more with me.

Mi corazón está rodeado, me ha dejado mi vigor; y la luz de mis ojos, aun ellos no están conmigo.

11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my plague; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

Mis amigos, y mis compañeros, se quitaron de delante de mi plaga: y mis cercanos se pusieron lejos.

12 They also that seek after my life lay snares; and they that wish for my mishap speak wicked falsehoods; and deceits do they devise all the day long.

Y los que buscaban a mi alma armaron lazos: y los que buscaban mi mal, hablaban iniquidades: y todo el día meditaban fraudes.

13 But I, as a deaf man, hear not; and I am as a dumb man that cannot open his mouth.

Y yo, como sordo, no oía: y como un mudo, que no abre su boca.

14 Thus am I as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no words of defence.

Y fui como un hombre que no oye: y que no hay en su boca reprensiones.

15 For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.

Porque a ti Jehová esperaba: tú responderás Jehová Dios mío.

16 For I said, Perhaps they might rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they might magnify themselves over me.

Porque decía: Que no se alegren de mí: cuando mi pie resbalaba se engrandecían sobre mí.

17 For I am prepared for [my] downfall, and my pain is continually before me.

Porque yo aparejado estoy a cojear: y mi dolor está delante de mí continuamente.

18 For I will tell of my iniquity; I will be grieved because of my sin.

Por tanto denunciaré mi maldad: congojarme he por mi pecado.

19 But my enemies are strong in life; and numerous are those that hate me wrongfully;

Porque mis enemigos son vivos y fuertes: y hánse aumentado los que me aborrecen sin causa:

20 They also that repay [me] evil in lieu of good; they hate me bitterly because I pursue what is good.

Y pagando mal por bien me son contrarios, por seguir yo lo bueno.

21 Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me.

No me desampares, o! Jehová; Dios mío, no te alejes de mí.

22 Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation.

Apresúrate a ayudarme, Señor, que eres mi salud.
