< Psalms 38 >

1 “A psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.” O Lord, correct me not in thy wrath, nor chastise me in thy fury.
Youn Sòm David; tankou yon sonj memorab O SENYÈ, pa repwoche mwen nan kòlè Ou, ni fè m chatiman nan kòlè Ou k ap brile.
2 For thy arrows have penetrated into me, and thy hand presseth down upon me.
Paske flèch Ou yo fin antre fon anndan m, epi men Ou fin peze m.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thy indignation: there is no peace in my bones because of my sin.
Nanpwen anyen ki ansante nan chè m, akoz endiyasyon Ou. Nanpwen lasante nan zo m yo akoz peche mwen.
4 For my iniquities are passed over my head, as a heavy burden are they too heavy for me.
Paske inikite mwen yo fin monte sou tèt mwen. Tankou yon fado lou, yo peze twòp pou mwen.
5 Foul, corrupt are my bruises because of my folly.
Blesi mwen yo vin santi e anfle akoz foli mwen.
6 I am bent double; I am bowed down to the utmost; all the day long I go about full of grief.
Mwen fin koube nèt e bese anpil. Mwen ap fè doulè tout lajounen.
7 For my loins are filled with a burning disease, and there is no soundness in my flesh.
Paske ren mwen plen ak brile. Nanpwen anyen ansante nan chè m.
8 I am made faint and crushed to the utmost; I cry aloud because of the groaning of my heart.
Mwen pa kab santi anyen ankò. Mwen fin kraze nèt. Vwa m plenyen akoz kè m ajite.
9 Lord, before thee is all my longing; and my sighing is from thee not hidden.
SENYÈ, tout volonte m devan Ou. Tout plent a vwa m yo pa kache a Ou menm.
10 My heart is restless, my strength hath left me; and the light of my eyes—that also is no more with me.
Kè m bat fò, fòs mwen kite m. Menm limyè a zye m, menm sa fin kite mwen.
11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my plague; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
Pwòch mwen yo avèk zanmi mwen yo kanpe nan distans akoz touman m. Fanmi m yo kanpe byen lwen.
12 They also that seek after my life lay snares; and they that wish for my mishap speak wicked falsehoods; and deceits do they devise all the day long.
(Sila) ki chache lavi m yo, ap prepare pyèj yo pou mwen. (Sila) ki chache fè m donmaj yo ap fè menas destriksyon. Y ap manniganse trayizon tout lajounen.
13 But I, as a deaf man, hear not; and I am as a dumb man that cannot open his mouth.
Men mwen menm, tankou yon moun mouri, mwen pa tande; Epi se tankou yon bèbè, ki pa ouvri bouch li.
14 Thus am I as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no words of defence.
Wi, mwen tankou yon nonm ki pa tande. E nan bouch mwen, pa gen repons.
15 For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.
Paske mwen mete espwa m nan Ou, O SENYÈ. Ou va reponn, O SENYÈ, Bondye mwen an.
16 For I said, Perhaps they might rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they might magnify themselves over me.
Paske mwen te di: “Ke yo pa vin rejwi sou mwen. Pou lè pye m chape, pou yo ta vante tèt yo kont mwen.”
17 For I am prepared for [my] downfall, and my pain is continually before me.
Paske mwen prèt pou tonbe. Tristès mwen devan m tout tan.
18 For I will tell of my iniquity; I will be grieved because of my sin.
Konsa, mwen konfese inikite mwen. Mwen ranpli avèk regrè akoz peche m.
19 But my enemies are strong in life; and numerous are those that hate me wrongfully;
Men lènmi m yo plen kouraj e fò. Yo anpil ki rayi mwen san koz.
20 They also that repay [me] evil in lieu of good; they hate me bitterly because I pursue what is good.
(Sila) ki remèt mal pou byen yo se lènmi m akoz mwen swiv sa ki bon.
21 Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me.
Pa abandone m, O SENYÈ. O Bondye m nan, pa rete lwen m!
22 Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation.
Fè vit pou ede mwen, O SENYÈ, delivrans mwen an!
