< Psalms 37 >

1 “Of David.” Do not fret thyself because of the evil-doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Dawid dwom. Nha wo ho nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nti; mma wʼani mmere wɔn a wɔyɛ bɔne;
2 For like the grass they shall soon be mowed down, and like the green herb shall they wither.
Wɔte sɛ ɛserɛ, ɛnkyɛre na ahye, wɔte sɛ dua mono, ɛnkyɛre na awu.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed [thyself] with truthfulness.
Fa wo ho to Awurade so na yɛ papa. Tena asase no so na ma wʼani nka asomdwoeɛ adidibea hɔ.
4 And delight thyself in the Lord, and he will give thee the wishes of thy heart.
Ma wʼani nka Awurade ho na woama wo deɛ wʼakoma pɛ.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord, and trust in him: and he will accomplish it.
Fa wʼakwan hyɛ Awurade nsam; na fa wo ho to ne so, na ɔno na ɔbɛyɛ:
6 And he will bring forth as the light thy righteousness, and the justice of thy [cause] as the noonday.
ɔbɛma wo teneneeyɛ ahyerɛn sɛ adekyeeɛ, na wʼatɛntenenee ayɛ sɛ owigyinaeɛ.
7 Be silent before the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who practices wicked devices.
Yɛ komm wɔ Awurade anim na to wo bo ase twɛn no, nha wo ho wɔ wɔn a asi wɔn yie ho ɛfiri sɛ wɔnam bɔne akwan so.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
Mma wo bo mfu, na gyae abufuhyeɛ; nha wo ho, ɛkɔwie bɔne nko ara.
9 For evil-doers shall be cut off; but those that wait upon the Lord, these—shall truly inherit the land.
Wɔbɛtwa nnebɔneyɛfoɔ agu, nanso wɔn a wɔn ani da Awurade soɔ no, wɔbɛnya asase no adi so.
10 For yet but for a little while, and the wicked shall be no more: yea, thou wilt look carefully at his place, and he shall not be there.
Ɛrenkyɛre, nnebɔneyɛfoɔ bɛyera. Wɔbɛhwehwɛ wɔn, nanso wɔrenhunu wɔn.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves because of the abundance of peace.
Nanso ahobrɛasefoɔ bɛnya asase no adi so na wɔanya asomdwoeɛ mmorosoɔ.
12 The wicked purposeth evil against the just, and gnasheth against him with his teeth.
Amumuyɛfoɔ bɔ pɔ bɔne tia ateneneefoɔ na wɔtwɛre wɔn se gu wɔn so;
13 The Lord will laugh at him; for he seeth that his day is coming.
nanso, Awurade sere amumuyɛfoɔ, na ɔnim sɛ wɔn nna abɛn.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cause the poor and needy to fall, and to slaughter such as are of an upright course [of life].
Amumuyɛfoɔ twe akofena na wɔkuntunu wɔn tadua mu sɛ wɔbɛkum ahiafoɔ ne mmɔborɔfoɔ, sɛ wɔbɛkum wɔn a wɔn akwan tene.
15 [But] their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
Nanso, wɔn akofena bɛwowɔ wɔn ankasa akoma mu, na wɔn tadua mu abubu.
16 Better is the little that the righteous hath, than the great riches of many wicked.
Kakra a ateneneefoɔ wɔ no som bo sene amumuyɛfoɔ bebree ahonya;
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the upholder of the righteous is the Lord.
ɛfiri sɛ, amumuyɛfoɔ ahoɔden bɛsa nanso Awurade bɛwowa ateneneefoɔ.
18 The Lord regardeth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall endure for ever.
Awurade nim wɔn a wɔn ho nni asɛm no nna, na wɔn agyapadeɛ bɛtena hɔ daa.
19 They shall not be made ashamed in the time of unhappiness; and in the days of famine shall they be satisfied.
Ahohiahia berɛ mu wɔremmrɛ. Ɛkɔm berɛ mu wɔbɛnya ma abu so.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the beauty of the meadow: they pass away; in smoke they pass away.
Nanso, amumuyɛfoɔ bɛyera. Awurade atamfoɔ bɛyɛ te sɛ wiram nhwiren; wɔbɛtu ayera sɛ wisie.
21 The wicked borroweth, and repayeth not; but the righteous is beneficent, and giveth.
Amumuyɛfoɔ pɛ bosea, na wɔntua, nanso ɔteneneeni de ahummɔborɔ ma;
22 For those blessed of him shall inherit the land; and those cursed of him shall be cut off.
Wɔn a Awurade ahyira wɔn no bɛnya asase no adi so, na wɔn a ɔdome wɔn no wɔbɛtwa wɔn agu.
23 By the Lord are the steps of the righteous man established; and he findeth pleasure in his course [of life].
Sɛ Awurade ani sɔ onipa akwan a, ɔma nʼanammɔntuo si pi.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholdeth his hand.
Sɛ ɔsunti a ɔrenhwe ase, ɛfiri sɛ Awurade kura no wɔ ne nsam.
25 I have been young, and I am also grown old: yet have I never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking for bread.
Na meyɛ aberanteɛ, na seesei mabɔ akɔkoraa, na menhunuu ɔteneneeni a Awurade apa nʼakyi anaasɛ ne mma resrɛ aduane.
26 He is all the time beneficent, and lendeth: and his seed will be for a blessing.
Ɛberɛ biara ɔyɛ adɔeɛ, na ɔde fɛm kwa; na ne mma bɛnya nhyira.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
Twe wo ho firi bɔne ho na yɛ papa na wobɛtena asase no so afebɔɔ.
28 For the Lord loveth justice, and never forsaketh his pious servants: they are for ever preserved; but the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
Ɛfiri sɛ, Awurade pɛ deɛ ɛtene, na ɔrennya ne nkurɔfoɔ nokwafoɔ no. Wɔbɛnya banbɔ daa nyinaa Nanso, amumuyɛfoɔ asefoɔ deɛ, wɔbɛtwa wɔn agu.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell for ever therein.
Ateneneefoɔ bɛnya asase no adi so na wɔatena so afebɔɔ.
30 The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, and his tongue speaketh what is just.
Ɔteneneeni ano ka nyansasɛm, na ne tɛkrɛma ka deɛ ɛtene.
31 The law of his God is in his heart: none of his steps shall slip.
Ne Onyankopɔn mmara wɔ nʼakoma mu; ne nan nnwatiri.
32 The wicked looketh out for the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
Amumuyɛfoɔ tetɛ ateneneefoɔ hwehwɛ sɛ wɔbɛkum wɔn,
33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand, and will not condemn him when he is judged.
nanso, Awurade nnyaa wɔn mma wɔn na ɔremma wɔmmu wɔn kumfɔ wɔ asɛnniiɛ.
34 Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, shalt thou look on.
Montwɛn Awurade na monhwɛ nʼakwan. Ɔbɛma mo so na moanya asase no adi so; sɛ wɔtwitwa amumuyɛfoɔ no gu a, mobɛhunu.
35 I have seen the wicked terrible in power, and striking root like a green tree in its native soil.
Mahunu omumuyɛfoɔ a ɔyɛ basabasa sɛ ɔredi yie sɛ dua mono a ɛsi asase pa soɔ,
36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was no more: and I sought him, but he could not be found.
nanso ankyɛre na ɛwuiɛ a wɔnhunu no bio; mehwehwɛɛ no, nanso manhunu no.
37 Observe the perfect man, and behold the upright; for there is a [happy] future for the man of peace.
Susu deɛ ɔyɛ pɛ ho, na hwɛ deɛ ɔtene; na asomdwoeɛ onipa bɛnya asetena pa daakye.
38 But the transgressors are destroyed together: the future of the wicked is cut off.
Nanso wɔbɛsɛe nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nyinaa; na wɔbɛtɔre wɔn asefoɔ ase.
39 And the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord: he is their strong-hold in the time of distress.
Ateneneefoɔ nkwagyeɛ firi Awurade ɔne wɔn aban wɔ amanehunu berɛ mu.
40 And the Lord helpeth them, and delivereth them; he will deliver them from the wicked, and save them; because they have put their trust in him.
Awurade boa wɔn na ɔgye wɔn; ɔyi wɔn firi amumuyɛfoɔ nsam na ɔgye wɔn nkwa, ɛfiri sɛ wɔhinta wɔ ne mu.
