Psalms 36
1 “To the chief musician, by the servant of the Lord, by David.” Saith vice itself to the wicked—so I feel it within my heart— that he should have no dread of God before his eyes.
«Εις τον πρώτον μουσικόν. Ψαλμός του Δαβίδ, δούλου του Κυρίου.» Του ασεβούς η παρανομία λέγει εν τη καρδία μου, δεν είναι φόβος Θεού έμπροσθεν των οφθαλμών αυτού.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes [too much] to find out his iniquity to hate it.
Διότι απατά εαυτόν εις τους οφθαλμούς αυτού περί του ότι θέλει ευρεθή η ανομία αυτού διά να μισηθή.
3 The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, to do good.
Τα λόγια του στόματος αυτού είναι ανομία και δόλος· δεν ηθέλησε να νοήση διά να πράττη το αγαθόν.
4 He deviseth wickedness upon his couch; he placeth himself on a way that is not good; evil he despiseth not.
Ανομίαν διαλογίζεται επί της κλίνης αυτού· ίσταται εν οδώ ουχί καλή· το κακόν δεν μισεί.
5 O Lord, into the heavens reacheth thy kindness, thy faithfulness even into the skies.
Κύριε, έως του ουρανού φθάνει το έλεός σου, η αλήθειά σου έως των νεφελών.
6 Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God; thy acts of justice like the great deep: man and beast dost thou ever help, O Lord.
Η δικαιοσύνη σου είναι ως τα υψηλά όρη· αι κρίσεις σου άβυσσος μεγάλη· ανθρώπους και κτήνη σώζεις, Κύριε.
7 How precious is thy kindness, O God! And the children of men that seek shelter under the shadow of thy wings, —
Πόσον πολύτιμον είναι το έλεός σου, Θεέ. Διά τούτο οι υιοί των ανθρώπων ελπίζουσιν επί την σκιάν των πτερύγων σου.
8 These will be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and of the stream of thy delights wilt thou give them to drink.
Θέλουσι χορτασθή από του πάχους του οίκου σου, και από του χειμάρρου της τρυφής σου θέλεις ποτίσει αυτούς.
9 For with thee is the source of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Διότι μετά σου είναι η πηγή της ζωής· εν τω φωτί σου θέλομεν ιδεί φως.
10 Draw down continuously thy kindness unto those that acknowledge thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Έκτεινον το έλεός σου προς τους γνωρίζοντάς σε, και την δικαιοσύνην σου προς τους ευθείς την καρδίαν.
11 Let not come against me the foot of pride, and let not the hand of the wicked chase me off.
Ας μη έλθη επ' εμέ πους υπερηφανίας· και χειρ ασεβών ας μη με σαλεύση.
12 There are fallen the workers of wickedness: they are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
Εκεί έπεσον οι εργάται της ανομίας· κατεσπρώχθησαν και δεν θέλουσι δυνηθή να ανεγερθώσι.
