Psalms 35
1 “Of David.” Contend, O Lord, with those that contend with me: fight against those that fight against me.
੧ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ। ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਕਰ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ।
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise up for my help.
੨ਢਾਲ਼ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਭ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਉੱਠ!
3 And draw out the spear, and step in against my pursuers; say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
੩ਬਰਛਾ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਤੇਰਾ ਬਚਾਓ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ।
4 Let those be put to shame and be confounded that seek after my life: let those be turned backward and be made to blush, that devise unhappiness for me.
੪ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਹਨ ਓਹ ਲੱਜਿਆਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਖੱਜਲ ਹੋਣ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹਟਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਲਝ ਜਾਣ!
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind; and may the angel of the Lord cast them forth.
੫ਉਹ ਪੌਣ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਡਦੀ ਤੂੜੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋਣ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੱਕਾ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਜਾਏ।
6 May their way be dark and slippery: and may the angel of the Lord pursue them.
੬ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਲਕਣਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਵੇ
7 For without cause have they hidden for me their net in a pit, without cause have they dug [pit-falls] against my life.
੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਲ਼ ਛਿਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਲਈ ਟੋਆ ਪੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੈ।
8 May then destruction come upon each of them at unawares; and may his net that he hath hidden catch himself: in [utter] destruction let him fall therein.
੮ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਆ ਪਵੇ! ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਾਲ਼ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਛਿਪਾਇਆ ਉਹੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਸਾ ਲਵੇ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਕੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ!
9 But my soul shall exult in the Lord: she shall be glad through his salvation.
੯ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਗ-ਬਾਗ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਾਓ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਗਨ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
10 All my bones will say, Lord, who is like unto thee, who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him?
੧੦ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਆਖਣਗੀਆਂ, ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੇਰੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤਕੜੇ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਾਂ, ਮਸਕੀਨ ਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਟੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ।
11 There rise up witnesses of violence; concerning what I know not they question me.
੧੧ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਗਵਾਹ ਉੱਠ ਖੜੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਓਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪੁੱਛਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
12 They recompense me with evil in place of good, [bringing] bereavement on my soul.
੧੨ਨੇਕੀ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਦੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I afflicted with fasting my soul, and my prayer returned into my own bosom.
੧੩ਜਦੋਂ ਓਹ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਸਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਤੱਪੜ ਦਾ ਸੀ, ਮੈਂ ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ।
14 As though he had been to me a friend or a brother did I walk about: as one that mourneth for a mother did I sorrowfully bend down my head.
੧੪ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਜਾਂ ਭਰਾ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਵਰਤਿਆ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਲਈ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਸੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਝੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ।
15 But in my downfall they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together; there gathered themselves together against me abject wretches, whom I knew not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
੧੫ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੰਗੜਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਮਾਰ ਕੁੱਟਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ। ਓਹ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਟੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
16 With hypocritical babbling mockers, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
੧੬ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਪਟੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਲਈ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੰਦ ਕਰੀਚੇ।
17 O Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, from the young lions my solitary spirit.
੧੭ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਤੂੰ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ? ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਤੋਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਬਰ ਸ਼ੇਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾ!
18 I will thank thee in the great assembly: among a mighty people will I praise thee.
੧੮ਮੈਂ ਮਹਾਂ-ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
19 Let not rejoice over me those that are my enemies wrongfully: [nor] let those who hate me without cause wink with the eye.
੧੯ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੇਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅੱਖ ਮਟਕਾਉਣ ਨਾ ਦੇ,
20 For they speak not peace; but against the quiet in the land they devise deceitful words.
੨੦ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਓਹ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਉਹ ਛਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
21 Yea, they opened wide against me their mouth; they said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.
੨੧ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵਾਹ, ਵਾਹ! ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ!
22 Thou hast seen it, O Lord! remain not silent: O Lord, be not far from me.
੨੨ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ! ਚੁੱਪ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਾ ਰਹਿ!
23 Arouse thyself, and awake to do me justice, my God and my Lord, unto my cause.
੨੩ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਉੱਠ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੁਕੱਦਮੇ ਲਈ ਜਾਗ।
24 Judge me according to thy righteousness, O Lord my God; and let them not rejoice over me.
੨੪ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ!
25 Let them not say in their heart, Aha, [this is the wish of] our soul: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
੨੫ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਕਹਿਣ, ਭਈ ਵਾਹ, ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹੋ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ! ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਆਖਣ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ!
26 Let those be made ashamed and put to the blush together that rejoice at my mishap; let them be clothed with shame and confusion that magnify themselves above me.
੨੬ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਓਹ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਲਝ ਜਾਣ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਾਦਰ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਪਹਿਨਣ।
27 Let those shout, and rejoice, that desire my righteousness: yea, let them say continually, Great is the Lord, who desireth the welfare of his servant.
੨੭ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਸੰਨ ਹਨ ਓਹ ਜੈ-ਜੈਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਖਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਸੰਨ ਹੈ।
28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness, all the day of thy praise.
੨੮ਤਦ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਤੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ, ਦਿਨ ਭਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
