Psalms 34
1 “By David, when he disguised his reason before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.” I will bless the Lord at all times: continually shall his praise be in my mouth.
Davidův, když proměnil oblíčej svůj před Abimelechem; pročež jsa od něho vyhnán, odšel. Dobrořečiti budu Hospodinu každého času, vždycky chvála jeho v ústech mých.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear it, and be rejoiced.
V Hospodinu chlubiti se bude duše má, což uslyšíc tiší, budou se veseliti.
3 Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Zvelebujtež se mnou Hospodina, a jméno jeho společně vyvyšujme.
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and from all that I dreaded did he deliver me.
Hledal jsem Hospodina, a vyslyšel mne, a ze všech přístrachů mých vytrhl mne.
5 They [who] looked unto him, were indeed enlightened, and their faces were not put to the blush.
Pročež k němu patřiti budou, a sbíhati se, a nebudou zahanbeny tváři jejich, ale řkou:
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and out of all his distresses did he save him.
Tento chudý volal a Hospodin vyslyšel, i ze všech úzkostí jeho vysvobodil jej.
7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about those who fear him, and delivereth them.
Vojensky se klade anděl Hospodinův okolo těch, kteříž se ho bojí, a zastává jich.
8 Experience and see that the Lord is good: happy is the man that trusteth in him.
Okuste a vizte, jak dobrý jest Hospodin. Blahoslavený člověk, kterýž doufá v něho.
9 Oh fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to those who fear him.
Bojtež se Hospodina svatí jeho; neboť nemívají nedostatku ti, kdož se ho bojí.
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not want any good.
Lvíčátka nedostatek a hlad trpívají, ale ti, kteříž hledají Hospodina, nemívají nedostatku ve všem dobrém.
11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: the fear of the Lord will I teach you.
Poďtež, dítky, poslouchejte mne, bázni Hospodinově vyučovati vás budu.
12 Who is the man that desireth life, loveth [many] days, that he may see happiness?
Který člověk žádostiv jest života, a miluje dny, aby užíval dobrých věcí?
13 Guard thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking deceit.
Zdržuj jazyk svůj od zlého, a rty své od mluvení lsti.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Odstup od zlého, a čiň dobré, hledej pokoje, a stíhej jej.
15 The eyes of the Lord are directed unto the righteous, and his ears unto their cry.
Oči Hospodinovy obrácené jsou k spravedlivým, a uši jeho k volání jejich:
16 [But] the anger of the Lord is against those that do evil, to cut off from the earth their remembrance.
Ale zůřivý oblíčej Hospodinův proti těm, kteříž páší zlé věci, aby vyplénil z země památku jejich.
17 Those cry, and the Lord heareth, and from all their distresses he delivereth them.
Volají-li spravedliví, Hospodin vyslýchá, a ze všech jejich úzkostí je vytrhuje.
18 The Lord is nigh unto those that are broken-hearted: and he saveth those that are of a contrite spirit.
Nebo blízko jest Hospodin těm, kteříž jsou srdce skroušeného, a potřeným v duchu spomáhá.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but out of them all the Lord ever delivereth him.
Mnohé úzkosti jsou spravedlivého, ale Hospodin ze všech jej vytrhuje.
20 He watcheth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Onť ostříhá všech kostí jeho, žádná z nich nebývá zlámána.
21 The evil will slay the wicked: and they who hate the righteous shall incur guiltiness.
Bezbožníka zahubí zlost, a ti, kteříž nenávidí spravedlivého, zkaženi budou.
22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and all that trust in him shall not incur guiltiness.
Služebníků pak svých duše vykoupí Hospodin, a nebudou zkaženi, kteříž doufají v něho.
