Psalms 33
1 Be joyful, O ye righteous, in the Lord; [for] unto the righteous praise is comely.
Веселіться, праведні, у Господі! Справедливим личить хвалити [Його].
2 Give thanks unto the Lord with the harp: with the ten-stringed psaltery do ye sing [praises] unto him.
Славте Господа під [звуки] арфи, співайте для Нього під ліру десятиструнну!
3 Sing unto him a new song; play beautifully amidst a triumphant shout.
Співайте Йому нову пісню, грайте майстерно, зі звуком сурми!
4 For the word of the Lord is upright; and all his works [are done] in truth.
Бо Слово Господа справедливе і всі Його дії гідні довіри.
5 He loveth righteousness and justice: the earth is full of the kindness of the Lord.
Він любить праведність і справедливість; земля повна милості Господньої.
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
Словом Господа створені небеса, і духом вуст Його – усе воїнство їхнє.
7 He gathereth together like heaps the waters of the sea: he layeth up in store-houses the depths [of the sea].
Він збирає грудами води моря, кладе безодні [океану] в сховища.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: of him stand in awe all the inhabitants of the world.
Нехай боїться Господа вся земля; нехай тремтять перед Ним усі мешканці всесвіту.
9 For he spoke, and it came into being: he commanded, and it stood fast.
Бо Він сказав – і стало, Він заповів – і з’явилося.
10 The Lord frustrateth the resolves of the nations: he bringeth to nought the thoughts of the people.
Господь руйнує намір народів, знищує задуми племен.
11 The counsel of the Lord will stand for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
А намір Господа стоятиме повіки, задуми Його серця – з роду в рід.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he hath chosen for himself as a heritage.
Блаженний народ, чиїм Богом є Господь, народ, який Він обрав Собі у спадок.
13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he seeth all the sons of men.
Господь поглядає з небес, бачить усіх синів людських.
14 From the place of his habitation he directeth his view upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
Із місця Свого перебування приглядається пильно до всіх, хто живе на землі, –
15 He fashioneth their hearts altogether; he hath regard to all their works.
Творець усіх сердець їхніх із розумінням вникає в усі їхні дії.
16 The king is not saved by the multitude of an army: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
Царя не врятує численне військо, воїна не визволить велика сила.
17 Vain is the horse for victory: nor shall he deliver any by the greatness of his strength.
Кінь ненадійний для порятунку: великою силою своєю він не врятує.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those that fear him, upon those that hope for his kindness.
Ось очі Господні звернені на тих, хто боїться Його, хто на милість Його сподівається,
19 To deliver from death their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.
щоб від смерті врятувати їх і живити під час голоду.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: our help and our shield is he.
Душа наша в надії чекає на Господа, Він – наша допомога і щит.
21 For in him shall our heart rejoice: because in his holy name have we trusted.
Ним радіє наше серце, бо на святе Його ім’я ми покладаємось.
22 Let thy kindness, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.
Нехай милість Твоя, Господи, буде над нами, як ми на Тебе й сподіваємося.
