Psalms 33
1 Be joyful, O ye righteous, in the Lord; [for] unto the righteous praise is comely.
Veselite se pravednici pred Gospodom; pravednima dolikuje slaviti.
2 Give thanks unto the Lord with the harp: with the ten-stringed psaltery do ye sing [praises] unto him.
Slavite Gospoda guslama, udarajte mu u psaltir od deset žica.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play beautifully amidst a triumphant shout.
Pjevajte mu pjesmu novu, složno udarajte podvikujuæi;
4 For the word of the Lord is upright; and all his works [are done] in truth.
Jer je prava rijeè Gospodnja, i svako djelo njegovo istinito.
5 He loveth righteousness and justice: the earth is full of the kindness of the Lord.
On ljubi pravdu i sud, dobrote je Gospodnje puna zemlja.
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
Rijeèju Gospodnjom nebesa se stvoriše, i duhom usta njegovijeh sva vojska njihova.
7 He gathereth together like heaps the waters of the sea: he layeth up in store-houses the depths [of the sea].
Kao u gomilu sabra vodu morsku, i propasti metnu u spreme.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: of him stand in awe all the inhabitants of the world.
Nek se boji Gospoda sva zemlja, i neka strepi pred njim sve što živi po vasiljenoj;
9 For he spoke, and it came into being: he commanded, and it stood fast.
Jer on reèe, i postade; on zapovjedi, i pokaza se.
10 The Lord frustrateth the resolves of the nations: he bringeth to nought the thoughts of the people.
Gospod razbija namjere neznabošcima, uništava pomisli narodima.
11 The counsel of the Lord will stand for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
Namjera je Gospodnja tvrda dovijeka, misli srca njegova od koljena na koljeno.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he hath chosen for himself as a heritage.
Blago narodu, kojemu je Bog Gospod, plemenu, koje je on izabrao sebi za naslijeðe.
13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he seeth all the sons of men.
S neba gleda Gospod, vidi sve sinove ljudske;
14 From the place of his habitation he directeth his view upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
S prijestola, na kome sjedi, pogleda na sve koji žive na zemlji.
15 He fashioneth their hearts altogether; he hath regard to all their works.
On je stvorio sva srca njihova, on i zna sva djela njihova.
16 The king is not saved by the multitude of an army: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
Neæe pomoæi caru velika (sila) neæe zaštititi jakoga velika snaga;
17 Vain is the horse for victory: nor shall he deliver any by the greatness of his strength.
Nije u konju uzdanje da æe pomoæi; ako mu je i velika snaga, neæe izbaviti.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those that fear him, upon those that hope for his kindness.
Gle, oko je Gospodnje na onima koji ga se boje, i na onima koji èekaju milost njegovu.
19 To deliver from death their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.
On æe dušu njihovu izbaviti od smrti, i prehraniti ih u gladne godine.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: our help and our shield is he.
Duša se naša uzda u Gospoda; on je pomoæ naša i štit naš.
21 For in him shall our heart rejoice: because in his holy name have we trusted.
O njemu se veseli srce naše; jer se u sveto ime njegovo uzdamo.
22 Let thy kindness, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.
Da bude milost tvoja, Gospode, na nama, kao što se uzdamo u tebe.
