Psalms 33
1 Be joyful, O ye righteous, in the Lord; [for] unto the righteous praise is comely.
Bucurați-vă în DOMNUL, voi cei drepți, căci laudă este cuvenită celor integri.
2 Give thanks unto the Lord with the harp: with the ten-stringed psaltery do ye sing [praises] unto him.
Lăudați pe DOMNUL cu harpa, cântați-i cu psalterionul și un instrument cu zece coarde.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play beautifully amidst a triumphant shout.
Cântați-i o cântare nouă; cântați la instrument cu măiestrie și sunet tare.
4 For the word of the Lord is upright; and all his works [are done] in truth.
Căci cuvântul DOMNULUI este drept; și toate lucrările lui sunt făcute în adevăr.
5 He loveth righteousness and justice: the earth is full of the kindness of the Lord.
El iubește dreptatea și judecata, pământul este plin de bunătatea DOMNULUI.
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
Prin cuvântul DOMNULUI au fost cerurile făcute; și toată oștirea lor prin suflarea gurii sale.
7 He gathereth together like heaps the waters of the sea: he layeth up in store-houses the depths [of the sea].
El adună apele mării ca pe un morman, el îngrămădește adâncurile în cămări.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: of him stand in awe all the inhabitants of the world.
Tot pământul să se teamă de DOMNUL, toți locuitorii lumii să se cutremure în uimire înaintea lui.
9 For he spoke, and it came into being: he commanded, and it stood fast.
Căci el a vorbit și s-a făcut; el a poruncit și a rămas neclintit.
10 The Lord frustrateth the resolves of the nations: he bringeth to nought the thoughts of the people.
DOMNUL face de nimic sfatul păgânilor, el face fără efect planurile oamenilor.
11 The counsel of the Lord will stand for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
Sfatul DOMNULUI rămâne pentru totdeauna, gândurile inimii lui din generație în generație.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he hath chosen for himself as a heritage.
Binecuvântată este națiunea al cărei Dumnezeu este DOMNUL; și poporul pe care l-a ales pentru moștenirea sa.
13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he seeth all the sons of men.
DOMNUL se uită din cer; el privește pe toți fiii oamenilor.
14 From the place of his habitation he directeth his view upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
Din locul locuinței sale privește peste toți locuitorii pământului.
15 He fashioneth their hearts altogether; he hath regard to all their works.
El le întocmește inimile la fel; el ia aminte la toate faptele lor.
16 The king is not saved by the multitude of an army: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
Niciun împărat nu este salvat prin mulțimea unei oștiri; un viteaz nu este salvat prin multă putere.
17 Vain is the horse for victory: nor shall he deliver any by the greatness of his strength.
Un cal este un lucru deșert pentru siguranță, nici nu va elibera pe cineva prin marea sa putere.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those that fear him, upon those that hope for his kindness.
Iată, ochiul DOMNULUI este peste cei ce se tem de el, peste cei ce speră în mila lui,
19 To deliver from death their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.
Pentru a scăpa sufletul lor de la moarte și pentru a-i ține în viață pe timp de foamete.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: our help and our shield is he.
Sufletul nostru așteaptă pe DOMNUL, el este ajutorul nostru și scutul nostru.
21 For in him shall our heart rejoice: because in his holy name have we trusted.
Da, inima noastră se va bucura în el, pentru că ne-am încrezut în numele lui sfânt.
22 Let thy kindness, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.
Mila ta, DOAMNE, să fie peste noi, după cum sperăm în tine.
