Psalms 31
1 “To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; Oh that I may never be put to shame: through thy righteousness do thou release me.
聖歌隊の指揮者によってうたわせたダビデの歌 主よ、わたしはあなたに寄り頼みます。とこしえにわたしをはずかしめず、あなたの義をもってわたしをお助けください。
2 Bend unto me thy ear; speedily deliver me: be thou unto me as a rock of protection, as a mountain strong-hold to save me.
あなたの耳をわたしに傾けて、すみやかにわたしをお救いください。わたしのためにのがれの岩となり、わたしを救う堅固な城となってください。
3 For my rock and my stronghold art thou; and for the sake of thy name lead me, and guide me.
まことに、あなたはわたしの岩、わたしの城です。み名のためにわたしを引き、わたしを導き、
4 Draw me out of the net which they have laid secretly for me; for thou art my protection.
わたしのためにひそかに設けた網からわたしを取り出してください。あなたはわたしの避け所です。
5 Into thy hand do I commit my spirit: thou redeemest me, O Lord, the God of truth.
わたしは、わが魂をみ手にゆだねます。主、まことの神よ、あなたはわたしをあがなわれました。
6 I hate those that depend on lying vanities; but I trust indeed in the Lord.
あなたはむなしい偶像に心を寄せる者を憎まれます。しかしわたしは主に信頼し、
7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy kindness; because thou hast seen my misery; thou hast taken cognizance of the distresses of my soul;
あなたのいつくしみを喜び楽しみます。あなたがわたしの苦しみをかえりみ、わたしの悩みにみこころをとめ、
8 And thou hast not surrendered me into the hand of the enemy: thou hast caused my feet to stand on an ample space.
わたしを敵の手にわたさず、わたしの足を広い所に立たせられたからです。
9 Be gracious unto me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eye is consumed through vexation—my soul [too] and my body.
主よ、わたしをあわれんでください。わたしは悩み苦しんでいます。わたしの目は憂いによって衰え、わたしの魂も、からだもまた衰えました。
10 For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing, my strength faileth because of my iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
わたしのいのちは悲しみによって消えゆき、わたしの年は嘆きによって消えさり、わたしの力は苦しみによって尽き、わたしの骨は枯れはてました。
11 Because of all my assailants am I become a reproach, and unto my neighbors greatly so, and a terror to my acquaintance, those that see me abroad flee away from me.
わたしはすべてのあだにそしられる者となり、隣り人には恐れられ、知り人には恐るべき者となり、ちまたでわたしを見る者は避けて逃げます。
12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of the heart: I am become like a perishable vessel.
わたしは死んだ者のように人の心に忘れられ、破れた器のようになりました。
13 For I have heard the slandering of many; terror was on every side, while they took counsel together against me: to take away my life did they purpose.
まことに、わたしは多くの人のささやくのを聞きます、「至る所に恐るべきことがある」と。彼らはわたしに逆らってともに計り、わたしのいのちを取ろうと、たくらむのです。
14 But I trusted well in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.
しかし、主よ、わたしはあなたに信頼して、言います、「あなたはわたしの神である」と。
15 In thy hand are my destinies: deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from my persecutors.
わたしの時はあなたのみ手にあります。わたしをわたしの敵の手と、わたしを責め立てる者から救い出してください。
16 Let thy face shine upon thy servant: save me through thy kindness.
み顔をしもべの上に輝かせ、いつくしみをもってわたしをお救いください。
17 O Lord, let me not be put to shame; for I have called on thee: let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent, [passing] to the nether world. (Sheol h7585)
主よ、わたしはあなたに呼ばわります、わたしをはずかしめないでください。悪しき者に恥をうけさせ、彼らに声をあげさせずに陰府に行かせてください。 (Sheol h7585)
18 Let the lying lips be made dumb, which speak hard things against the righteous, with pride and contempt.
高ぶりと侮りとをもって正しい者をみだりにそしる偽りのくちびるをつぐませてください。
19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast treasured up for those that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for those that trust in thee before the sons of men!
あなたを恐れる者のためにたくわえ、あなたに寄り頼む者のために人の子らの前に施されたあなたの恵みはいかに大いなるものでしょう。
20 Thou wilt conceal them in the secret of thy presence from the conspiracy of men: thou wilt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
あなたは彼らをみ前のひそかな所に隠して人々のはかりごとを免れさせ、また仮屋のうちに潜ませて舌の争いを避けさせられます。
21 Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shown me his kindness wonderfully in a beleaguered city.
主はほむべきかな、包囲された町のようにわたしが囲まれたとき、主は驚くばかりに、いつくしみをわたしに示された。
22 And yet had I said in my despondency, I am cut off from before thy eyes: nevertheless thou didst hear the voice of my supplications when I cried loudly unto thee.
わたしは驚きあわてて言った、「わたしはあなたの目の前から断たれた」と。しかしわたしがあなたに助けを呼び求めたとき、わたしの願いを聞きいれられた。
23 Oh love the Lord, all ye his pious ones: the Lord preserveth the faithful, and recompenses the presumption of him that acteth proudly.
すべての聖徒よ、主を愛せよ。主は真実な者を守られるが、おごりふるまう者にはしたたかに報いられる。
24 Be strong, and let your heart be of good courage, all ye that hope in the Lord.
すべて主を待ち望む者よ、強くあれ、心を雄々しくせよ。
