Psalms 29

1 “A psalm of David.” Ascribe unto the Lord, O ye sons of the mighty, ascribe unto the Lord glory and strength.

Ein Psalm Davids. Bringet her dem HERRN, ihr Gewaltigen, bringet her dem HERRN Ehre und Stärke!

2 Ascribe unto the Lord the glory of his name; bow down to the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Bringet dem HERRN die Ehre seines Namens; betet an den HERRN im heiligen Schmuck!

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth, the Lord—upon mighty waters.

Die Stimme des HERRN geht über den Wassern; der Gott der Ehren donnert, der HERR über großen Wassern.

4 The voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with power; the voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with majesty.

Die Stimme des HERRN geht mit Macht; die Stimme des HERRN geht herrlich.

5 The voice of the Lord breaketh in pieces the cedars; yea, the Lord shivereth the cedars of Lebanon;

Die Stimme des HERRN zerbricht die Zedern; der HERR zerbricht die Zedern im Libanon.

6 And he maketh them skip like a calf; Lebanon and Siryon like young reems.

Und macht sie hüpfen wie ein Kalb, den Libanon und Sirjon wie ein junges Einhorn.

7 The voice of the Lord heweth out flames of fire.

Die Stimme des HERRN sprüht Feuerflammen.

8 The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

Die Stimme des HERRN erregt die Wüste; der HERR erregt die Wüste Kades.

9 The voice of the Lord causeth the hinds to start, and maketh bare forests: and in his temple every thing speaketh [of his] glory.

Die Stimme des HERRN erregt die Hinden und entblößt die Wälder; und in seinem Tempel sagt ihm alles Ehre.

10 The Lord sat [enthroned] at the flood: and the Lord will sit as King for ever.

Der HERR sitzt, eine Sintflut anzurichten; und der HERR bleibt ein König in Ewigkeit.

11 The Lord will give strength unto his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Der HERR wird seinem Volk Kraft geben; der HERR wird sein Volk segnen mit Frieden.
