Psalms 29

1 “A psalm of David.” Ascribe unto the Lord, O ye sons of the mighty, ascribe unto the Lord glory and strength.

Ein Psalm Davids. Bringet her dem HERRN, ihr Gewaltigen bringet her dem HERRN Ehre und Stärke!

2 Ascribe unto the Lord the glory of his name; bow down to the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Bringet dem HERRN Ehre seines Namens; betet an den HERRN in heiligem Schmuck!

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth, the Lord—upon mighty waters.

Die Stimme des HERRN gehet auf den Wassern; der Gott der Ehren donnert, der HERR auf großen Wassern.

4 The voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with power; the voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with majesty.

Die Stimme des HERRN gehet mit Macht; die Stimme des HERRN gehet herrlich.

5 The voice of the Lord breaketh in pieces the cedars; yea, the Lord shivereth the cedars of Lebanon;

Die Stimme des HERRN zerbricht die Zedern; der HERR zerbricht die Zedern im Libanon

6 And he maketh them skip like a calf; Lebanon and Siryon like young reems.

und machet sie löcken wie ein Kalb, Libanon und Sirion wie ein junges Einhorn.

7 The voice of the Lord heweth out flames of fire.

Die Stimme des HERRN häuet wie Feuerflammen.

8 The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

Die Stimme des HERRN erreget die Wüste; die Stimme des HERRN erreget die Wüste Kades.

9 The voice of the Lord causeth the hinds to start, and maketh bare forests: and in his temple every thing speaketh [of his] glory.

Die Stimme des HERRN erreget die Hindinnen und entblößet die Wälder. Und in seinem Tempel wird ihm jedermann Ehre sagen.

10 The Lord sat [enthroned] at the flood: and the Lord will sit as King for ever.

Der HERR sitzt, eine Sintflut anzurichten. Und der HERR bleibt ein König in Ewigkeit.

11 The Lord will give strength unto his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Der HERR wird seinem Volk Kraft geben; der HERR wird sein Volk segnen mit Frieden.
