< Psalms 29 >
1 “A psalm of David.” Ascribe unto the Lord, O ye sons of the mighty, ascribe unto the Lord glory and strength.
A Psalm of David. Give unto the LORD, O ye sons of the mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
2 Ascribe unto the Lord the glory of his name; bow down to the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth, the Lord—upon mighty waters.
The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth, even the LORD upon many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with power; the voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with majesty.
The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
5 The voice of the Lord breaketh in pieces the cedars; yea, the Lord shivereth the cedars of Lebanon;
The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 And he maketh them skip like a calf; Lebanon and Siryon like young reems.
He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox.
7 The voice of the Lord heweth out flames of fire.
The voice of the LORD cleaveth the flames of fire.
8 The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord causeth the hinds to start, and maketh bare forests: and in his temple every thing speaketh [of his] glory.
The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and strippeth the forests bare: and in his temple every thing saith, Glory.
10 The Lord sat [enthroned] at the flood: and the Lord will sit as King for ever.
The LORD sat [as king] at the Flood; yea, the LORD sitteth as king for ever.
11 The Lord will give strength unto his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace.
The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
