Psalms 29

1 “A psalm of David.” Ascribe unto the Lord, O ye sons of the mighty, ascribe unto the Lord glory and strength.

Psalam. Davidov. Prinesite Jahvi, o sinovi Božji, prinesite Jahvi slavu i moć!

2 Ascribe unto the Lord the glory of his name; bow down to the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Prinesite Jahvi slavu njegova imena, poklonite se Jahvi u svetištu njegovu!

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth, the Lord—upon mighty waters.

Čuj! Jahve nad vodama, Jahve nad vodama silnim!

4 The voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with power; the voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with majesty.

Čuj! Jahve u sili, Jahve u veličanstvu!

5 The voice of the Lord breaketh in pieces the cedars; yea, the Lord shivereth the cedars of Lebanon;

Čuj! Jahve lomi cedre, Jahve lomi cedre libanske,

6 And he maketh them skip like a calf; Lebanon and Siryon like young reems.

i Liban skakuće poput teleta, a Sirion kao mlado bivolče!

7 The voice of the Lord heweth out flames of fire.

Čuj! Jahve sipa munje, Jahve sipa munje ognjene!

8 The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

Čuj! Jahve potresa pustinjom, Jahve potresa pustinjom kadeškom!

9 The voice of the Lord causeth the hinds to start, and maketh bare forests: and in his temple every thing speaketh [of his] glory.

Čuj! Od straha se mladÄe košute, prerano se mladÄe košute šumske. [3b] Čuj! Bog veličanstveni zagrmje, [9a] a u Hramu njegovu svi kliknuše: Slava!

10 The Lord sat [enthroned] at the flood: and the Lord will sit as King for ever.

Jahve nad valima stoluje, stoluje Jahve - kralj dovijeka!

11 The Lord will give strength unto his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Jahve narodu svom daje jakost, Jahve narod svoj mirom blagoslivlje.
