Psalms 27
1 “Of David.” The Lord is my light and my salvation; of whom shall I be afraid? the Lord is the fortress of my life; of whom shall I have dread?
De David. L'Éternel est ma lumière et ma délivrance; De qui aurais-je peur? L'Éternel est le rempart de ma vie; De qui aurais-je de la crainte?
2 When evil-doers come near against me to eat up my flesh, my assailants and my enemies at me: then do they stumble and fall.
Quand les méchants sont venus contre moi Pour dévorer ma chair, Ce sont eux, mes adversaires et mes ennemis. Qui ont bronché et qui sont tombés.
3 If an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: if war should arise against me, even then will I have trust.
Quand même une armée camperait contre moi, Mon coeur n'aurait aucune crainte. Quand la guerre s'élèverait contre moi, Même alors j'aurais confiance.
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, that I will seek for: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the loveliness of the Lord, and to be every morning early in his temple.
J'ai demandé une chose à l'Éternel, et je la rechercherai: C'est d'habiter dans la maison de l'Éternel Tous les jours de ma vie, Pour contempler la beauté de l'Éternel Et pour visiter son sanctuaire.
5 For he will hide me in his pavilion on the day of evil; he will conceal me in the secret of his tabernacle; upon a rock will he place me high.
Car il m'abritera dans sa tente au jour du malheur; Il me cachera dans le lieu le plus secret de son tabernacle. Il m'élèvera sur un rocher.
6 And now will my head be lifted up above my enemies all round about me; and I will sacrifice in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy: I will sing, and I will triumphantly play unto the Lord.
Déjà ma tête s'élève au-dessus des ennemis qui m'entourent. J'offrirai dans son tabernacle des sacrifices, avec des cris de joie; Je chanterai et je psalmodierai à la gloire de l'Éternel.
7 Hear, O Lord, my voice, [when] I call, and be gracious unto me, and answer me.
O Éternel, écoute ma voix, je t'invoque; Aie pitié de moi et daigne m'exaucer!
8 Of thee, said my heart, “Seek ye my presence”: thy presence, Lord, will I seek.
Mon coeur dit de ta part: «Cherchez ma face!» Je cherche ta face, ô Éternel!
9 Hide [then] not thy face from me; reject not in anger thy servant, thou [who] hast been my help: cast me not off, nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Ne me cache pas ta face! Ne rejette pas ton serviteur, dans ta colère! Tu as été mon aide; ne me délaisse pas, ne m'abandonne point, Dieu de mon salut!
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me; but the Lord will take me up.
Quand mon père et ma mère m'auraient abandonné, L'Éternel me recueillera.
11 Point me out thy way, O Lord! and guide me on a level path, because of those that regard me enviously.
O Éternel, enseigne-moi ta voie, Et conduis-moi dans le droit chemin, A cause de mes ennemis.
12 Give me not up to the [revengeful] desire of my assailants; for there are risen up against me false witnesses, and such as utter violence.
Ne me livre pas à la merci de mes adversaires: Car de faux témoins, des gens qui ne respirent que violence, Se sont élevés contre moi.
13 Unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of life—
Ah! si je n'avais l'assurance de voir la bonté de l'Éternel Sur la terre des vivants!
14 Wait on the Lord; be strong, and let thy heart be of good courage; and only wait on the Lord.
Mets ton espoir en l'Éternel! Demeure ferme; que ton coeur se fortifie. Oui, mets ton espoir en l'Éternel!
