Psalms 25
1 “Of David.” Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
De David. Vers toi, ô Éternel, j'élève mon âme.
2 O my God, in thee do I trust, let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.
Mon Dieu, en toi je me confie: que je ne sois pas confondu! que je ne donne pas de la joie à mes ennemis!
3 Yea, none that wait on thee will be put to shame: let those be put to shame who deal treacherously without cause.
Quiconque espère en toi, n'est point confondu; la confusion est pour ceux qui trahissent sans cause.
4 Show me, O Lord, thy ways; teach me thy paths.
Éternel, indique-moi tes voies, enseigne-moi quels sont tes sentiers!
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation: on thee do I wait all the day.
guide mes pas dans ta vérité, et instruis-moi! car tu es mon Dieu sauveur, c'est en toi que je mets toujours mon espoir.
6 Remember thy mercies, O Lord, and thy kindnesses; for they are from everlasting.
Souviens-toi de tes compassions, Éternel, et de ta bonté, car elle remonte à l'éternité!
7 The sins of my youth and my transgressions do not remember: according to thy kindness bear thou me in remembrance, for the sake of thy goodness, O Lord.
Oublie les péchés de mon jeune âge, et mes rebellions! En ta grâce souviens-toi de moi, au nom de ta bonté, Éternel!
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore he pointeth out to sinners the right way.
L'Éternel est bon et équitable: aussi montre-t-Il aux pécheurs la voie,
9 He guideth the meek in justice, and he teacheth the meek his way.
faisant marcher les pauvres dans sa justice, et enseignant aux pauvres sa voie.
10 All the paths of the Lord are kindness and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
Toutes les voies de l'Éternel sont grâce et fidélité pour ceux qui gardent son alliance et ses lois.
11 For the sake of thy name, O Lord, pardon my iniquity: although it is great.
Pour l'amour de ton nom, Éternel, tu pardonneras ma faute, car elle est grande.
12 Who is that man that feareth the Lord? to him will he point out the way which he is to choose?
A l'homme qui craint l'Éternel, Il montre la voie qu'il doit choisir:
13 His soul shall abide in happiness: and his seed shall inherit the land.
son âme reposera au sein du bonheur, et sa postérité possédera le pays.
14 The secret counsel of the Lord is for those that fear him, and his covenant—to make it known to them.
L'Éternel se communique à ceux qui le craignent, Il leur donne son alliance pour les instruire.
15 My eyes are ever [directed] toward the Lord; for he will draw out of the net my feet.
Mes yeux sont toujours fixés sur l'Éternel; car Il dégagera mes pieds du filet.
16 Turn unto me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted.
Tourne tes regards vers moi, Éternel, et prends pitié de moi! car je suis dans l'abandon et dans la misère.
17 The distresses of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my afflictions.
Les angoisses m'ont ouvert le cœur; délivre-moi donc de mes perplexités!
18 Look on my misery and my trouble; and forgive all my sins.
Vois ma misère et ma peine, et pardonne tous mes péchés!
19 Look at my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with the hatred of violence.
Vois le nombre de mes ennemis, et la haine violente qui les anime!
20 Oh, guard my soul; and deliver me: let me not be put to shame; for I put my trust in thee.
Garde mon âme, et sauve-moi! que je ne sois pas confondu! car j'ai recours à toi.
21 Let integrity and uprightness guard me; for I wait on thee.
Que l'intégrité et la droiture me soient un appui! car je mets en toi mon espoir.
22 Redeem, O God, Israel out of all his distresses.
O Dieu, délivre Israël de toutes ses détresses!
