Psalms 25
1 “Of David.” Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
Psaume de David. [Aleph.] Eternel, j'élève mon âme à toi.
2 O my God, in thee do I trust, let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.
[Beth.] Mon Dieu, je m'assure en toi, fais que je ne sois point confus, [et] que mes ennemis ne triomphent point de moi.
3 Yea, none that wait on thee will be put to shame: let those be put to shame who deal treacherously without cause.
[Guimel.] Certes, pas un de ceux qui se confient en toi, ne sera confus; ceux qui agissent perfidement sans sujet seront confus.
4 Show me, O Lord, thy ways; teach me thy paths.
[Daleth.] Eternel! fais-moi connaître tes voies, enseigne-moi tes sentiers.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation: on thee do I wait all the day.
[He. Vau.] Fais-moi marcher selon la vérité, et m'enseigne; car tu es le Dieu de ma délivrance; je m'attends à toi tout le jour.
6 Remember thy mercies, O Lord, and thy kindnesses; for they are from everlasting.
[Zain.] Eternel, souviens-toi de tes compassions et de tes gratuités; car elles sont de tout temps.
7 The sins of my youth and my transgressions do not remember: according to thy kindness bear thou me in remembrance, for the sake of thy goodness, O Lord.
[Heth.] Ne te souviens point des péchés de ma jeunesse, ni de mes transgressions; selon ta gratuité souviens-toi de moi, pour l'amour de ta bonté, ô Eternel!
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore he pointeth out to sinners the right way.
[Teth.] L’Eternel est bon et droit, c'est pourquoi il enseignera aux pécheurs le chemin qu'ils doivent tenir.
9 He guideth the meek in justice, and he teacheth the meek his way.
[Jod.] Il fera marcher dans la justice les débonnaires, et il leur enseignera sa voie.
10 All the paths of the Lord are kindness and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
[Caph.] Tous les sentiers de l'Eternel [sont] gratuité et vérité à ceux qui gardent son alliance et ses témoignages.
11 For the sake of thy name, O Lord, pardon my iniquity: although it is great.
[Lamed.] Pour l'amour de ton Nom, ô Eternel! tu me pardonneras mon iniquité, quoiqu'elle soit grande.
12 Who is that man that feareth the Lord? to him will he point out the way which he is to choose?
[Mem.] Qui est l'homme qui craint l'Eternel? [L'Eternel] lui enseignera le chemin qu'il doit choisir.
13 His soul shall abide in happiness: and his seed shall inherit the land.
[Nun.] Son âme logera au milieu des biens, et sa postérité possédera la terre en héritage.
14 The secret counsel of the Lord is for those that fear him, and his covenant—to make it known to them.
[Samech.] Le secret de l'Eternel est pour ceux qui le craignent, et son alliance pour la leur donner à connaître.
15 My eyes are ever [directed] toward the Lord; for he will draw out of the net my feet.
[Hajin.] Mes yeux sont continuellement sur l'Eternel; car c'est lui qui tirera mes pieds du filet.
16 Turn unto me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted.
[Pe.] Tourne ta face vers moi, et aie pitié de moi; car je suis seul, et affligé.
17 The distresses of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my afflictions.
[Tsade.] Les détresses de mon cœur se sont augmentées; tire-moi hors de mes angoisses.
18 Look on my misery and my trouble; and forgive all my sins.
[Res.] Regarde mon affliction et mon travail, et me pardonne tous mes péchés.
19 Look at my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with the hatred of violence.
[Res.] Regarde mes ennemis, car ils sont en grand nombre, et ils me haïssent d'une haine [pleine] de violence.
20 Oh, guard my soul; and deliver me: let me not be put to shame; for I put my trust in thee.
[Scin.] Garde mon âme, et me délivre; [fais] que je ne sois point confus; car je me suis retiré vers toi.
21 Let integrity and uprightness guard me; for I wait on thee.
[Thau.] Que l'intégrité et la droiture me gardent; car je me suis attendu à toi.
22 Redeem, O God, Israel out of all his distresses.
[Pe.] Ô Dieu! rachète Israël de toutes ses détresses.
