< Psalms 25 >
1 “Of David.” Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
To thee, O Jehovah, do I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, in thee do I trust, let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.
O my God, in thee I have trusted. Let me not be put to shame. Let not my enemies triumph over me.
3 Yea, none that wait on thee will be put to shame: let those be put to shame who deal treacherously without cause.
Yea, none who wait for thee shall be put to shame. They shall be put to shame who deal treacherously without cause.
4 Show me, O Lord, thy ways; teach me thy paths.
Show me thy ways, O Jehovah. Teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation: on thee do I wait all the day.
Guide me in thy truth, and teach me. For thou are the God of my salvation. For thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember thy mercies, O Lord, and thy kindnesses; for they are from everlasting.
Remember, O Jehovah, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindness. For they have been ever of old.
7 The sins of my youth and my transgressions do not remember: according to thy kindness bear thou me in remembrance, for the sake of thy goodness, O Lord.
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. According to thy loving kindness remember thou me, for thy goodness' sake, O Jehovah.
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore he pointeth out to sinners the right way.
Good and upright is Jehovah. Therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.
9 He guideth the meek in justice, and he teacheth the meek his way.
The meek he will guide in justice, and the meek he will teach his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are kindness and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
All the paths of Jehovah are loving kindness and truth to such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For the sake of thy name, O Lord, pardon my iniquity: although it is great.
For thy name's sake, O Jehovah, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
12 Who is that man that feareth the Lord? to him will he point out the way which he is to choose?
What man is he who fears Jehovah? Him he shall instruct in the way that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall abide in happiness: and his seed shall inherit the land.
His soul shall dwell at ease, and his seed shall inherit the land.
14 The secret counsel of the Lord is for those that fear him, and his covenant—to make it known to them.
The friendship of Jehovah is with those who fear him, and he will show them his covenant.
15 My eyes are ever [directed] toward the Lord; for he will draw out of the net my feet.
My eyes are ever toward Jehovah, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.
16 Turn unto me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted.
Turn thee to me, and have mercy upon me, for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The distresses of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my afflictions.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged. O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 Look on my misery and my trouble; and forgive all my sins.
Consider my affliction and my travail, and forgive all my sins.
19 Look at my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with the hatred of violence.
Consider my enemies, for they are many. And they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 Oh, guard my soul; and deliver me: let me not be put to shame; for I put my trust in thee.
O keep my soul, and deliver me. Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in thee.
21 Let integrity and uprightness guard me; for I wait on thee.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for thee.
22 Redeem, O God, Israel out of all his distresses.
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all of his troubles.
