Psalms 24

1 “Of David a psalm.” Unto the Lord belongeth the earth with what filleth it, the world and they that dwell therein;

مزمور داوود. زمین و هر آنچه در آن است، از آن خداوند می‌باشد.

2 For upon seas hath he founded it, and upon rivers hath he established it.

او اساس و بنیاد زمین را بر آب دریاها قرار داد.

3 Who shall ascend into the mountain of the Lord? and who shall be able to stand in his holy place?

چه کسی می‌تواند به خانهٔ مقدّس خداوند که بر کوه واقع است راه یابد؟

4 He that is of clean hands, and pure of heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood, and hath not sworn deceitfully:

کسی که پندار و کردارش پاک باشد و از ناراستی و دروغ بپرهیزد.

5 He shall bear away blessing from the Lord, and [the reward of] righteousness from the God of his salvation.

خداوند چنین کسی را نجات بخشیده، برکت خواهد داد و او را بی‌گناه اعلام خواهد نمود.

6 This is the generation of those that adore him, that seek thy presence, [the sons of] Jacob. (Selah)

اینها همان کسانی هستند که همیشه در طلب خدای یعقوب می‌باشند و مشتاق دیدار او هستند!

7 Raise your heads, O ye gates; and be raised wide, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

ای دروازه‌ها، باز شوید! ای درهای قدیمی اورشلیم باز شوید، تا پادشاه جلال وارد شود!

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

این پادشاه جلال کیست؟ خداوند است! خداوند قادر مطلق؛ خداوند فاتح همهٔ جنگها!

9 Raise your heads, O ye gates; and raise [them] up, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

ای دروازه‌ها، باز شوید! ای درهای قدیمی اورشلیم باز شوید، تا پادشاه جلال وارد شود!

10 Who is then this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Selah)

این پادشاه جلال کیست؟ خداوند است! خداوند لشکرهای آسمان! آری، اوست پادشاه جلال!
