Psalms 24

1 “Of David a psalm.” Unto the Lord belongeth the earth with what filleth it, the world and they that dwell therein;

Een psalm van David. De aarde is des HEEREN, mitsgaders haar volheid, de wereld, en die daarin wonen.

2 For upon seas hath he founded it, and upon rivers hath he established it.

Want Hij heeft ze gegrond op de zeeen, en heeft ze gevestigd op de rivieren.

3 Who shall ascend into the mountain of the Lord? and who shall be able to stand in his holy place?

Wie zal klimmen op den berg des HEEREN, en wie zal staan in de plaats Zijner heiligheid?

4 He that is of clean hands, and pure of heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood, and hath not sworn deceitfully:

Die rein van handen, en zuiver van hart is, die zijn ziel niet opheft tot ijdelheid, en die niet bedriegelijk zweert;

5 He shall bear away blessing from the Lord, and [the reward of] righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Die zal den zegen ontvangen van den HEERE, en gerechtigheid van den God zijns heils.

6 This is the generation of those that adore him, that seek thy presence, [the sons of] Jacob. (Selah)

Dat is het geslacht dergenen, die naar Hem vragen, die Uw aangezicht zoeken, dat is Jakob! (Sela)

7 Raise your heads, O ye gates; and be raised wide, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

Heft uw hoofden op, gij poorten, en verheft u, gij eeuwige deuren, opdat de Koning der ere inga!

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Wie is de Koning der ere? De HEERE, sterk en geweldig, de HEERE, geweldig in den strijd.

9 Raise your heads, O ye gates; and raise [them] up, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

Heft uw hoofden op, gij poorten, ja, heft op, gij eeuwige deuren! opdat de Koning der ere inga!

10 Who is then this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Selah)

Wie is Hij, deze Koning der ere? De HEERE der heirscharen, Die is de Koning der ere. (Sela)
