Psalms 23

1 “A psalm of David.” The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. യഹോവ എന്റെ ഇടയൻ ആകുന്നു, എനിക്ക് ഒന്നിനും കുറവുണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.

2 In pastures of tender grass he causeth me to lie down: beside still waters he leadeth me.

പച്ചപ്പുൽമേടുകളിൽ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ കിടത്തുന്നു, പ്രശാന്തമായ ജലാശയങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ നയിക്കുന്നു,

3 My soul he refresheth: he guideth me in the tracks of righteousness for the sake of his name.

എന്റെ പ്രാണന് അവിടന്ന് നവജീവൻ പകരുന്നു. തിരുനാമംനിമിത്തം എന്നെ നീതിപാതകളിൽ നടത്തുന്നു.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear evil; for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff—they indeed comfort me.

മരണനിഴലിൻ താഴ്വരയിൽക്കൂടി ഞാൻ സഞ്ചരിച്ചെന്നാലും, ഒരു അനർഥവും ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ല, എന്നോടൊപ്പം അവിടന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ; അവിടത്തെ വടിയും കോലും എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

5 Thou preparest before me a table in the presence of my assailants; thou anointest with oil my head: my cup overfloweth.

എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെമുമ്പിൽ, അങ്ങ് എനിക്കൊരു വിരുന്നൊരുക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ ശിരസ്സിൽ അവിടന്ന് തൈലാഭിഷേകം നടത്തുന്നു; എന്റെ പാനപാത്രം കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നു.

6 Surely, only goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord to the utmost length of days.

എന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലമെല്ലാം നന്മയും കരുണയും എന്നെ പിൻതുടരും, നിശ്ചയം, ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ നിത്യം വസിക്കും.
