Psalms 23

1 “A psalm of David.” The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

दावीद का एक स्तोत्र. याहवेह मेरे चरवाहा हैं, मुझे कोई घटी न होगी.

2 In pastures of tender grass he causeth me to lie down: beside still waters he leadeth me.

वह मुझे हरी-हरी चराइयों में विश्रान्ति प्रदान करते हैं, वह मुझे शांत स्फूर्ति देनेवाली जलधाराओं के निकट ले जाते हैं.

3 My soul he refresheth: he guideth me in the tracks of righteousness for the sake of his name.

वह मेरे प्राण में नवजीवन का संचार करते हैं. वह अपनी ही महिमा के निमित्त मुझे धर्म के मार्ग पर लिए चलते हैं.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear evil; for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff—they indeed comfort me.

यद्यपि मैं भयानक अंधकारमय घाटी में से होकर आगे बढ़ता हूं, तौभी मैं किसी बुराई से भयभीत नहीं होता, क्योंकि आप मेरे साथ होते हैं, आपकी लाठी और आपकी छड़ी, मेरे आश्वासन हैं.

5 Thou preparest before me a table in the presence of my assailants; thou anointest with oil my head: my cup overfloweth.

आप मेरे शत्रुओं के सामने मेरे लिए उत्कृष्ट भोजन परोसते हैं. आप तेल से मेरे सिर को मला करते हैं; मेरा प्याला उमड़ रहा है.

6 Surely, only goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord to the utmost length of days.

निश्चयतः कुशल मंगल और करुणा-प्रेम आजीवन मेरे साथ साथ बने रहेंगे, और मैं सदा-सर्वदा याहवेह के आवास में, निवास करता रहूंगा.
