Psalms 20

1 “To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;

Que el Señor te oiga en el día de la angustia; que el nombre del Dios de Jacob te defienda;

2 May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;

Que él te envíe ayuda desde el lugar santo, y te dé fuerzas desde Sión;

3 May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)

Tenga en cuenta todas tus ofrendas y esté satisfecho con tu holocausto; (Selah)

4 May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.

Puede él darte el deseo de tu corazón y lleve a cabo todos tus propósitos.

5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.

Nos alegraremos en tu salvación, y en el nombre de nuestro Dios levantaremos nuestras banderas: que el Señor te dé todas tus peticiones.

6 Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.

Ahora estoy seguro de que el Señor da la salvación a su rey; él le dará una respuesta desde su cielo santo con la fuerza de la salvación en su diestra.

7 Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.

Algunos ponen su fe en carruajes y algunos en caballos; mas nosotros confiaremos en el nombre del Señor nuestro Dios.

8 They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.

Ellos flaquean y caen; mas nosotros nos levantamos, seguimos firmes y estamos en pie.

9 O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].

Ven a nuestra ayuda, Señor: que el Rey nos escuche cuando clamamos.
