Psalms 20

1 “To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;

Para el músico principal. Un salmo de David. Que Yahvé te responda en el día de la angustia. Que el nombre del Dios de Jacob te ponga en alto,

2 May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;

te envía ayuda desde el santuario, te conceda el apoyo de Sión,

3 May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)

recuerda todas sus ofrendas, y aceptar tu sacrificio quemado. (Selah)

4 May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.

Que te conceda el deseo de tu corazón, y cumplir todos tus consejos.

5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.

Triunfaremos en tu salvación. En el nombre de nuestro Dios, levantaremos nuestras banderas. Que Yahvé te conceda todas tus peticiones.

6 Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.

Ahora sé que Yahvé salva a su ungido. Él le responderá desde su santo cielo, con la fuerza salvadora de su mano derecha.

7 Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.

Algunos confían en los carros y otros en los caballos, pero confiamos en el nombre de Yahvé, nuestro Dios.

8 They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.

Se inclinan y caen, pero nos levantamos y nos ponemos de pie.

9 O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].

¡Salva, Yahvé! ¡Que el Rey nos responda cuando llamamos!
