Psalms 20

1 “To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;

Przedniejszemu śpiewakowi psalm Dawidowy. Niech cię Pan wysłucha w dzień utrapienia; niech cię wywyższy imię Boga Jakóbowego.

2 May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;

Niech ci ześle ratunek z świątnicy, a z Syonu niech cię podeprze.

3 May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)

Niech wspomni na wszystkie ofiary twoje, a całopalenia twoje niech w popiół obróci. (Sela)

4 May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.

Niech ci da wszystko według serca twego, a wszelką radę twoję niech wypełni.

5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.

Rozweselimy się w wybawieniu twojem, a w imieniu Boga naszego chorągiew podniesiemy; niech wypełni Pan wszystkie prośby twoje.

6 Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.

Teraześmy poznali, iż Pan wybawił pomazańca swego, a iż go wysłuchał z nieba swego świętego przez zbawienną moc prawicy swojej.

7 Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.

Jedni w wozach, a drudzy w koniach ufają; ale my na imię Pana, Boga naszego, wspominamy.

8 They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.

Onić polegli i upadli, a myśmy powstali, i ostoimy się.

9 O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].

Panie! ty nas zachowaj, a król nas niech wysłucha w dzień wołania naszego.
