< Psalms 20 >

1 “To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;

2 May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;
Hmuenciim hoiah nang abomh hanah patoeh nasoe loe, Zion hoiah thacakhaih na paek nasoe.
3 May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)
Na tathlang ih hmuennawk boih panoek nasoe loe, na sak ih angbawnhaih to talawk nasoe.
4 May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.
Na koehhaih palungthin baktih toengah, na paek nasoe loe, na poekhaihnawk boih acungsak nasoe.
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.
Na pahlonghaih pongah kang hoe o moe, aicae Sithaw ih ahmin hoiah pazawkhaih kahni ka payang o han: na hnik ih hmuennawk boih Angraeng mah na paek nasoe.
6 Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.
A qoih ih kami loe Angraeng mah pahlong; thacak pahlonghaih a bantang ban hoiah anih ih lok to angmah ih kaciim van hoiah tahngai pae, tiah vaihi ka panoek boeh.
7 Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.
Thoemto kaminawk loe hrangleengnawk to oep o, thoemto kaminawk loe hrangnawk to oep o: toe kaicae loe kaimacae Angraeng Sithaw ih ahmin ni ka oep o.
8 They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.
Nihcae loe lu takhum o moe, amtim o: toe kaicae loe angthawk o moe, kacakah kang doet o.
9 O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].
Aw Angraeng, pahlong ah! Kang kawk o naah siangpahrang mah pathim nasoe.
